Aunt Martha's Dish Towels, 33 by 38-Inch, 7 Count, White

For environmental and sanitary reasons, I use plain white dish towels to dry vegetables and fruit after washing them. I keep a bunch of towels handy so I am not limited when I am on a roll prepping vegetables and/or fruit for cooking, or cleaning my newly-purchased veggies and fruits to keep until later. Aunt Martha's 33-Inch by 38-Inch Flour Sack Dish Towels work great for that. Additionally, using these towels as I do, I use far fewer paper towels, which is good for the environment, frees-up cupboard space, and is good for my wallet.The towels are all-white so I do not worry about preserving a print or embroidery on them. When my son, a chef, is cooking in my kitchen, he has white cloths to abuse like they do in professional kitchens and I don’t have to worry about him staining my pretty kitchen towels.After use, I just toss the towels into a laundry basket and when I have enough for a load I wash them with a just a little bleach for disinfecting. Because they don’t need to look nice for decorative purposes, it doesn’t matter if they’re stained, but if a person cares about that and doesn’t use bleach for whitening, a soak in some Oxywhitening will maintain the white color.Because they are so large, I dry these towels in a hot dryer without worrying about shrinkage. They do not take long to dry, which is good for conserving energy, bringing down one’s electric bill and contributing to the preservation of the earth’s environment. The truly dedicated can hang the towels outside where the sun will dry them in a snap.These dish towels are large enough to work for anything I wash and prepare. In fact, they are bigger than I need for a lot of fruits and veggies. When that’s the case, I just keep using the dry sections until I’m either done or the towel is too wet to absorb any more and I need to grab another one.These towels really are absorbent. I like how dry just-washed herbs and lettuce are after a roll in one of these towels. It’s so much less hassle to clean and dry herbs and lettuce that way versus a salad spinner or paper towels. (Who knows what’s on paper towels? Paper towels also cannot absorb much before they are too wet too fast and one needs more of them.) I just just roll wet herbs or lettuce up in one of these towels, give it a few quick, firm squeezes, and the produce is dryer than when I used a salad spinner; they’re dry enough to use right away. These towels are so absorbent that by the time I am finished with one it is very damp to soaking wet, so when I am finished with my work, I throw it on my kitchen floor and using my feet, I push it quickly around my kitchen floor to wipe up spills and spots before I toss the towel in the hamper.When I opened the package I found no fraying edges and they have stayed that way for months despite regular machine washing in cold water with small amounts of bleach and hot machine drying.I am happy with this purchase.

Truly amazing. I got 18”x28” size. Perfect size for every day kitchen use. I used to use microfiber cloths in my kitchen for hands, and whatever else. But they’d get stinky after just a few hand dries! And it would take forever to dry. I guess that’s why they get stinky and probably bacteria too. Nasty. Finally I ran into these, and they’re awesome!! I washed them right after I received it. They got a little wrinkly and curvy around the edges, but really that’s not an issue for me at all. They did not shrink! I washed them on delicate cycle on cold, and dried it on delicate on medium. I did not use the softeners. Liquid or the dryer sheets, as that can leave the residue and affect the absorbency. They come out of the dryer a little rough, not soft, but it’s not an issue. I don’t care about the texture, I care about the efficiency. They’re highly absorbent and dry FAST. No lint. I ordered it for the first time and got only 7 of them to see if I like them. Since I do, I’m ordering one more pack just to keep them on hand! The color is white, with no stains or anything. I don’t know how they’ll do with kitchen stains, but I plan on keeping my microfiber ones for picking up kitchen mess, and these just for hands and dish drying when I need to. Even if they get stained but continue to be effective, I’ll be fine with that. (Depending on how bad it is lol). Long story short, I really do recommend these! I do wish they’re a bit cheaper, but it’s still worth it.

Best dish towels I have found yet. I bought the same brand 2 years ago and retuned to buy more because my first pack was only 2 towels, I got the 7 this time. I like to bake and these larger sizes are great for covering my bread. I also use them when washing my fruits and veggies.The material is the thickest one I have found, it is very absorbent. I washed them as soon and I got them and they did not shrink, I’m not afraid to toss them in the washer with other linens because they wash great, and dry fast. They look great, and they are well made with great material that absorbs water. They look great in the kitchen.

I've purchased 15 to 20 different products labeled "flour sack towels" over the years, and not one has ever lived up to the standard set 25+ years ago by Williams Sonoma. Not even new towels from Williams Sonoma. These towels are the closest any product has ever come to meeting that standard. The towels are well made - the hemming is clean, straight, and consistent, the hanger is very high quality, and I was able to pull off the tag (no scissors!) without messing up the stitching. The towels are huge, super thick, and the fabric is smooth and wrinkle-free.Two important tests: 1) what happens when they are washed, and 2) do they actually serve their purpose as kitchen towels.Washing - I washed the new towels with some towels that were sitting in the laundry, waiting to be washed. I washed the towels with hot water, laundry detergent, and oxyclean bleach alternative (chlorine bleach being hard to come by these days). I dried them with high heat, without dryer sheets. They came out of the dryer without wrinkles, had not shrunk, and the hems were still intact and smooth. I was impressed.Function - I use flour sack towels for everything in the kitchen. Drying dishes, drying countertops, cleaning up countertop spills, under the dish drainer, to cover yeast dough as it rises, and most importantly these days, drying my hands. I was happily surprised that these towels were absorbent after just one washing - dried dishes better than most (not perfectly, sure, but only one washing), dried the countertop well, excellent for drying my hands, and did just fine covering the pizza crust dough that was rising. They also dried quickly, even folded up and sitting on the counter. I haven't mopped up coffee, juice, tomato sauce, or other spills yet, so I'm not sure how clean they'll get with a rinse in the sink or wash in the machine. But even if they hold onto some stains, they're still way better than any other towels I've purchased in the past 15 years.Highly recommended. I am purchasing more today.

I ordered these for our vacation home and live them so much I'm getting some for my house. I've purchased many flour sack towels over the years and these are the best I've ever seen. They are just the right thickness and are perfect for embroidering, if desired because they're symmetrical. I appreciate the hanging loop, tooUnfortunately, they came with only 6 instead of 7.Hoping the next order is complete.I highly recommend these towels.

I love these towels! They are heavy weight, durable, and as lint-free as anything I've ever found. I own a cleaning service, and use them on windows, mirrors and, really, anything glass. Mine have been washed and dried on high heat on a daily basis for five months now, and I have not noticed any shrinkage or distortion at all. Hems are well sewn and strong without any fraying at the edges. They do get more absorptive over time. It took about a month for mine to really pick up water as well as they do now. So, the older they are, the better they get, and I can see them lasting for many years of heavy use. My only complaint is that they are really large. A lot for my small hands to hang onto, but I'm too lazy to drag out my sewing machine and cut them down smaller. If these ever wear out, I'll get a smaller size.UPDATE: Almost 2 and a half years after purchasing a package of 7 Aunt Martha's flour sack towels, they are beginning to show some age. I have used these wonderful towels daily in my business, and they have gone through the washer and dryer daily as well. With all the abuse they have endured, I do have holes in a few of them from getting hung up on sharp edges, but there is absolutely no fraying, and the hemmed edges are still intact! I have just made my 2nd purchase of these "Aunt Martha's" towels and can't wait to see if they are still of the same amazing quality. This time I bought a smaller size. If they are a good as the first ones I bought, I will order several more packages so that I will never be without!

Great quality for an authentic old fashioned embroidered cup towel! I ordered “flour sack” towels for embroidery from 5 different companies, trying to replicate my grandmother’s cup towels that have worn out after 40-60 years. These were the best! I washed them all in hot water and dried them on the hottest setting and was shocked that they were all perfectly square when I folded them. There were a few long threads on the sides but after looking closely I saw they were just hemming threads that needed to be trimmed. It’s so hard to find these, I will order again and stock up!

These white tea towels 28X 28 just arrived today. I have just washed them and put them in the dryer.They washed up beautifully and they might of shrunk just by an inch but that's all. They were completely dry when when I took them out of the dryer so my thought is if I had taken them out almost dry I could of pulled them to be the exact size. But they a great size to begin with and one inch shrinkage doesn't reallymatter. I'm anxious to use them now. That's the only reason I gave Absorbency 4 stars. Don't hesitate to buy these. By the way, they cleaned my glasses with no lint.

El tamano de estos trapos de cocina es excelente, la construccion y calidad del producto es excepcional. Es blanco completamente, tiene una pequena pestana donde se puede colgar. las medidas son las mismas que especificadas, en mi caso, lo uso para panaderia y en ocasiones cocina. Se manchan con facilidad por su color, se lavan sin encoger. es un buen producto a un buen precio.

I did not dislike anything about these towels and I use them in my embroidery work. They are like the older fabrics that aren't available now, very soft but very strong.

The flour sack dishcloths are very handy in the kitchen. I use them for wiping up spills, drying washed veggies, cleaning windows and mirrors etc. Super fast delivery, very happy with my purchase.
