It works when my cats allow me to file their nails. It has been challenging because of the sound and the vibration when I start filing. Cats are scared of anything unfamiliar or loud. It isn't very loud but definitely startled my furbabies. Definitely comfortable to hold, not heavy nor bulky. I should have started using this when my cats were kittens so they would have been used to it. It's a great idea, quick and you don't need to worry about cutting too far down. I've also dropped this a few times trying not to get clawed and it's still functions like new. Definitely recommend if you feel your furbabies can handle sound and vibration.

Works great and easy to use. It's not loud at all. Very durable. I use it frequently and for the most part my retriever seems much less bothered by this than traditional trims with clippers.

Trimming our dalmatian's nails the old fashioned way was an absolute nightmare. We tried everything (treats, peanut butter, etc) and the only success we had was my 6'4" boyfriend holding him down while I clipped away. It is very quiet and didn't scare him at all. We sat him down (no holding required) and on our first try he just sat there patiently, letting us file down each nail. No barking, no struggle. Just peace! He even sniffed the trimmer as we went and didn't seem bothered by it at all. Half of his nails are black and half are white. Traditional trimmers made it hard to see his quick but the light on this made trimming less stressful and no hurt paws! We also got a much smoother finish to his nails with no sharp edges. I had an older nail grinder a while back. It was so loud my dogs were so scared of the sound I couldn't get to the actual nail grinding. This is really quiet. And it doesn't hurt the dogs at all. They dont like my holding their paw and feeling the vibration. But it doesn't hurt. A few treats along the way makes up for the inconvenience of having their nails grinded (yes I own two princesses who dont like sitting still when told) And the charge lasts quite a while. Not paid... and reporting I love this tool!

The grinder is exactly what the ad promises — well-designed, easy to use. However, one thing I failed to see was that the noise of the grinder (even though fairly minimal) will keep any cat from sitting still while it is used. My kittens are 11 weeks and 17 weeks, and I cannot get anywhere near them with this thing. I get hold of a kitten, then turn on the grinder, and then the kitten becomes all claws (IRONY!) trying to get away from it. If I had a second person to help, maybe I could use this, but instead I have to go back to manually clipping the claws, which is almost as much of a challenge.
