It’s helping me recover, be up and around
As I continue to recover from a bad sprain I’m now using this Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer In oder to allow me to walk while protected and stable, finding them to be comfortable and protective. After my injuries my wife ordered this Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer along with a boot from Amazon to help me heal. In both cases we are very happy with our choices. They arrived the next day thanks for Amazon Prime, and both have worked well for me. A few weeks ago I took a bad hit, spraining my right ankle and nailing my left knee (don’t ask). As I’ve recovered I’ve had to deal with a bruised foot, the sprain, and needing to support one, while not bothering the other. At this point I continue to have swelling in the ankle, deep bruising in the foot and ankle, but the need to get up and around. I’m finding this Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer to be giving me the support I need, but without pain to the deep bruising. Because of the nature of my injuries I’ve been unable to actually put this Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer or my previous boot on by myself. We cannot tell if this is a one person job, but throughout it’s had to be a job I cannot do from my position - so something to keep in mind, but again, it may simply be my injury. The Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer is lightweight and does not hinder my movement. It feels nice as it’s wrapped around the ankle, but again, it’s not hurting nor causing pain across the foot, though I feel protected. I am not wearing socks in these images - as you can see - but these were taken to test the size and take photos for this review. I have since worm them only with socks. While I did not find discomfort wearing no socks, I do feel I’m more comfortable walking with them WITH the socks - as if they give me a little more cushion, but also a feeling of protection. But I THINK I could go without and be fine. * I did wear them around the house that first time without socks for about an hour and I was fine. I like that the ties can be adjusted like a shoe in order to adjust tightness. We’ve worked a few times to get that just right, but it was easy to do and didn’t take too long. I feel the solid, but soft support along the ankle. It keeps me comfortable, but protected. I tried to use them in a pair of slip on casual shoes - the Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer did not fit. I am using them in a pair of older gym shoes - I did not want to risk stretching my main pair of gym shoes - and find that the Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer works well. My wife had to extend out the shoes and could not really tighten it all the way down - meaning the shoes do feel loose on the foot. But at this point I’m still doing limited walking. I think as I can walk more I’ll continue to use the Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer at least another week, and I will have to figure out how to deal with the looser shoe. But as I need to feel protected and strength in the ankle, I’ll deal. In the end I’m very happy with the Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer and will use it as long as I need it. And we’ll keep it around for any... what-if.

This is THE ankle brace you're looking for!!
At the risk of sounding like a 90s infomercial, look no further! THIS is the ankle brace you've been looking for! lol Okay, POV: You've been looking and comparing a bunch of different ankle braces on here, to help you while you're on the mend from some injury. Well I'm tellin' ya dudes & dudettes - THIS is the one you want... Don't skimp out because of the price, trust me - this one is worth it! The next best one on here doesn't even come close to being as supportive as this one. I showed this one compared to a slightly cheaper one I bought on here to my boyfriend who's a physical therapist - and he really liked this one, said it was the only one that provided any REAL support. So hey, its physical therapist approved! *can I get in trouble for saying that? is that technically a legal claim? lol* Just a couple pointers: #1 Use the sizing guide! Measure where it says to measure, don't just go by how big your feet or ankles are. Its not one-to-one the same as how the sizing works with this, so you might be surprised which size you end up being. Also keep in mind that your ankle might still be pretty swollen if you're post-injury. So be sure to take your current measurement, so that it will be a comfortable fit and not painful #2 I had a black one, but I thought white would be cute for Summer with white tennis shoes. Well, it *was*, until a week later when they started looking all dirty and gross lol I guess it depends on how much you sweat and what activities you're participating in... but I'd highly recommend to just go with black. It looks way better, trust me lol #3 On that note, make you're *washing* this ("gentle cycle/hand wash", yadda yadda...) as often as you would a pair of socks, unless you want stinky feet! A good portion of this wraps around the bottom of your foot and ankle, to where practically half of it sits IN the shoe. So that thing can get real stinky, real fast lol Even just a rinse every day/every other day, maybe some foot powder in there, you should be golden :) Addressing the specific aspects it says people want to know from reviews: Velcro durability... GREAT! I've had mine for years actually and it still grips tight and holds just as strong. If anything the straps do eventually start to go from worn in to worn out, but it takes a longgggg time to do that, years even, much longer than you'll likely be wearing it (in most cases). Again, depends on your activity level, but generally speaking, there's only *super* durable materials in this thing. Compression and wearability... Really good, has layered materials to ensure a comfortable evenly distributed compression & support around the entire ankle and arch of the foot. But for added comfort, esp if you're post-injury, I'd suggest a nice cushioned sock that covers the skin the brace would be in contact with. That should help it not cause any skin issues or discomfort. Adjustability... Freakin AWESOME, has tons of extra lace length (if you get your proper size), and a nice touch is there's a center point in the laces themselves that is sewn into/connected, so you're guaranteed an even knot tying experience witbout having to constantly adjust the laces one way or the other to get the ends to be even. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. Over and out.

Recommend to everyone
Accurate fit. Keeps support. Many ways to adjust. Going from walking boot to this has been an easy transition. Reduced swelling significantly more than walking boot. Welcome stays clean and seems durable.

A Lifesaver!
I fell two weeks ago and thought nothing about it...until after a few days later the pain, while walking, grew more intense. I went to an orthopaedic urgent care facility. An xray was taken but no broken bones. The assumption was "stress fracture" of the ankle bone but it was not readily visible. I was given a boot that went from the foot to the knee. Difficult to walk with since it threw off my balance and I started to feel a strain on the other side of the body as I walked. One week went and still no improvement. Did a little research while I stayed off my feet. Based on my analysis it was not a stress fracture at all. Appears to be peroneal ligament tendonitis. All symptoms fit. Ordered this ankle stabilizer. Thought I had nothing to lose. Wonrg! I did lose the inability to walk without sharp pain as soon as I started wearing it. Great product! Highly recommend. This has given me back my mobility and I can function a lot easier using a cane and my regular orthopedic shoes. Due to see the doc next week and will report results . Shame I had to spend $300 for a boot that was basically worthless and created more problems as well. This product for the money is well worth it!

Good brace recomended by surgeon
My wife broke her ankle and after she was ready to transition from the hard boot to this type of brace she was told by the orthopedic surgeon to buy this one. Well made and easy to use, giving plenty of support.

Good support for trail running
I generally haven't found braces very helpful when I've tried them, but I bought one of these at a friend's recommendation. I've done two ~8mi trail runs with it, each with about 2000' of elevation gain with a mildly sprained ankle, and it has been able to stabilize my ankle so I can continue to run while protecting it from further injury. I followed the size guide and was happy with the one I selected.

I sprained my ankle, this was a great fit and provided the support I needed.

Not comfortable
This brace it great if you're going to wear it without shoes. It's very supportive. With shoes it's super uncomfortable and hurts since it's so bulky. If you have peroneal tendon subluxation it's probably one of you're only options though.

Top! Gibt den benötigten Halt.
Habe an beiden Knöcheln überdehnte bzw. gerissene Bänder.

True to Size
Took measurement based on instructions and it fit nicely. Not too loose or tight. Material seems good. Yet to use for exercising but looks promising.
