Both are elementary age. We just wanted to add in a curriculum option that we could expand from if we needed. This brought to life books that I loved as a kid and books that my girls love. It was such a great way for us to jump into various levels of learning from the books we have instead of just textbooks, too! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very gentle approach to teaching subjects *by S***E on April 28, 2023* I have mixed feelings on this, it's a little bit juvenile for a 5 year old. I should have ordered the regular Five in a Row. (My fault I didn't realize it was part of a serious) it's just a more gentle approach. It's very household oriented. There's no worksheets it's just all pretty much using things around your house.I did use the whole book. Used the story map and checked out the books at the library. However, I had to create a much more challenging curriculum for my son in addition to this one.It's good material but more for kids younger than 5. If your child is advanced I'd suggest getting the regular Five in a Row. Again, i didn't know this was part of a series.We homeschooled unexpectedly mid school year of pre-k due to school circumstances. So I was in a huge hurry to purchase some type of curriculum.Absolutely recommend it but it's very juvenile. Almost like age 3 ? Thank you for having your product readily available when I needed material! ### ⭐⭐⭐ Some great books, some less so *by T***L on March 1, 2021* I am not sure this product is worth the cost in the age of Pinterest and Teachers Pay Teachers and authors and publishers having their own often amazing content to expand upon their books.While it has good ideas and some of the books are good. It is not organized in a way that makes lesson planning easy--since there are hands-on things there is prep work to do for some of the activities but unlike our math curriculum there isn't an easy quick reference to all the supplies and references you'd need to complete the unit (it is just within the text). Which isn't the end of the world but when you paid this price for a black and white print book and then need to find the story books at the library or buy them it is fairly labor intensive and/or expensive process.So far I really liked "All the World and Baby Bear Sees Blue, Mighty Mighty Construction Site." We already owned and loved other Sherri Duskey Rinker books so I bought Might Mighty Construction Site, and I will probably purchase the other two I have listed so far. Blue on Blue was a good but not a book my child found interesting enough to buy. Bunnycakes I didn't care for, I read them and sent it back to the library, it was fine but not a book that was something worth studying as a "literature" unit in my home. Toot and Puddle was cute, I was indifferent to Go to Sleep Little Farm and In a Blue Room.I don't really understand the significance of story disks and placing them on an imaginary "map" that is difficult to copy/cut out of the book or why you'd buy what appears to be a coloring project already colored and laminated?
