Solid, Reliable, and a Surprise MVP in My Setup
The NEEWER Heavy Duty Metal Clamp is a game changer. I originally bought it to hold reflectors, but it’s ended up being my go-to for holding my 5x7 foot backdrop as well. This thing is solid—super sturdy and built to last. I wish I had found it sooner! The spring is strong, and the grip feels really secure. It attaches easily to my light stand (standard 5/8” attachment), and once it’s locked in, it’s secure. I’ve tested it with different reflectors and backdrops, and it holds everything in place without slipping. The metal build is impressive—it feels way more durable than I expected for the price. Whether I’m working solo or tweaking things mid-shoot, this clamp makes my life easier. I might pick up a second one just to have on hand for other projects. If you’re on the fence—grab it. It’s one of those simple tools that's super handy.

Super sturdy
This clip is no joke. Definitely not going break anytime soon. Fits on my light stand and is storing enough to hold a lot of weight, more than I'd ever need to hang. The build quality is very durable.

Awesome clamps, especially for the price!
These clamps work great! Especially for what I am using them for. I am using them to make a DIY photo scrim, and so far, they are working perfectly. They grip very nicely, and they come at a great value.

Fixes my issues with holding up backdrops and reflectors.
One saying you may have heard in your life is a job is easier when you have the right tools and this is true. Right before the pandemic started I was doing lots of portraits by myself and rigging things to hold my fold-out backdrops. It was a pain and it looked unprofessional. I knew I needed something to help alleviate this problem and that’s where this clip comes into play. I can attach it to a c-stand or light stand and clip-on onto the backdrop thus keeping it in place. it’s been so nice not to have to fight these things. It looks much more professional than jerry-rigging it to stay up or asking someone to hold it up. I have had no issues with it breaking or bending. It’s made from metal and seems to be a solid piece of gear.

Great Unit
When you have light stands with a standard camera mount (1/4" or 3/8" ) it is very sturdy and useful. But when You have old light stands(Film era Stands) then this unit will not work unless you can engineer a mounting unit. It would be nice if the base was designed to slip on one of these old light stands with some kind of locking system. Then we could use some of this old equipment instead of having to buy new light stands. Outside of this problem the unit worked great and by the way, I had a light stand with the 1/4" unit on top of the stand so I was able to use this unit several times.

Heavy Duty Indeed
I bought the Neewer flash umbrella kit ($50 for two stands and 3 umbrellas for each) first and while a good value the stands and mounts are definitely budget quality. This attachment however is substantial and is the same piece you’d use to hold your flash and an umbrella. The clip comes off in the same way so it can serve both purposes and for the money it’s a worth upgrade and definitely up to the task of you piece your own kit together with decent stands. The clip is very strong, has a large surface area for holding the reflector or fabric. The angle adjustment is geared and spring loaded so it’s easier to adjust, and the whole thing is metal as far as I can tell except the knobs. Haven’t even used it yet, just impressed unboxing it with its size, weight, and functionality since the budget flash kit I mentioned is my only experience with this particular gear. Definitely buying another and keeping the original flash/umbrella mounts as backups. This would be perfect for holding diffusion fabric, strong enough, big enough bite, solid adjustment for the price!

Using one Neewer Photo Studio Heavy Duty Metal Clamp failed to hold my reflector in position.
Using one Neewer Photo Studio Heavy Duty Metal Clamp failed to hold my reflector in position. the clamp is strong, but the reflector bends downward. Not giving the right angels for subjects/models. I might try and order another clamp and stand to see, if two will correct this issue? I will update the review, when I test out two clamps. I can not recommend this product yet.
