Often a full laundry load each week. So about are they soft. . . The washcloths and towels in rehab were almost like sandpaper. When I was allowed home I fixed that. To make sure your cotton washcloths are soft there are 2 important things to do; 1st put your fabric softener (if you use it) in the was cycle instead of the rinse, this helps to keep them absorbent; 2nd always use a second rinse cycle, making sure that all of the detergent etc. is rinsed out. They will slowly lose their initial fluff, (clean you lint trap/screen every cleaning) but they are cheap enough that when they do and are no longer soft enough for the baby and my face and eyes, they remain great for general clean up. **Q: Is this good for drying dishes?** A: I keep a stack in a bin next to my kitchen sink to reduce my reliance on paper towels. I use them to dry my dishes, wipe my hands after washing and wipe down any spills.
