Well engineered, sturdy chairs, great value
Overall these are great, attractive chairs. Solid hardwood is used for every part of the chair. They are comfortable, though the carved grooves in the seat may be a little deep for some people (shorter, skinnier people perhaps). The connections are very well engineered and should hold a decent amount of weight and stay rigid and sturdy for a long time. The bolts that attach the legs to the seat are especially good - they go into threaded metal inserts in the apron. Assembling the chairs is simple and easy, though screwing together the spindles takes a bit of effort. The size is great for tucking into an eat-in counter height kitchen island. The wood used in the chair is well selected and color matched. If you're not familiar with birch, it looks similar to hard maple. The finish is somewhere between matte and satin and is slightly rough in some spots on the carved seat. I will probably do a light hand sanding and apply some furniture wax to the seat area just to make it feel nicer to the touch. As others have mentioned, the screws are cheap and relatively soft. The key to preventing the screws from breaking is making sure not to overtighten them. Use a screwdriver so that you can feel when you're applying too much pressure. If it starts to get tight, stop, even if the screw is not fully recessed into the spindle. The legs do not have pilot holes pre-drilled so putting them together with a screwdriver takes some effort. Out of 4 chairs (32 screws), I broke one screw head by being too aggressive and thinking the screw could go in a little further. If you do use a drill, do not use an impact/hammer drill as that will easily sheer off the head. Use a regular drill with the clutch set as low as you can to make sure you don't stress the screws. Though if using a drill, I would replace the screws with higher-quality steel screws. Even with the cheap screws, these are 5-star chairs. You can easily pay 4x as much plus shipping for chairs that are only a little higher quality than these.

Beautiful, solid wood
Likes: beautiful authentic wood not that cheap shit you see everywhere nowadays. They are super comfortable, our guests love them. Dislikes: some were wobbly at first but I found that if I loosened the bolts a little it sorted itself out. They are now all very sturdy (4) and we have had them for 2 years and loved them. The quality is akin to ikea, that is to say we probably wonโt have them in 20 years but thatโs okay with me. For the price of $40 each itโs a steal!

Fabulous stools!
These are better quality than I expected. Easy to put together, though i recommend a drill for support pieces, its easier. If the screws struggle going in towards the end, pull them out and adjust the support to the left or right a little and they will slide in properly. They are very sturdy, the legs are solid and they look fabulous. One was wobbly when I tipped it over, so I just sat on it and it settled the legs evenly. So pleased, I bought a 3rd. Super win for me!

A few tweaks when assembling
First off, the prime day deal allowing you to only buy one was ridiculous. Who buys only one stool? At least let us buy an extra at regular price. That would be more reasonable. As for assembly, when I was screwing my second screw, the HEAD broke off the screw. I had to wiggle the two pieces of wood for almost an hr to get them separated. Then had to get the screw that was still stuck in the wood with pliers. Ugh. To keep this from happening again, instead of using the screws that came with the item, I used 1 1/4โ wood screws. And each pocket hole was reinforced with wood glue. Doing this made assembly absolutely seamless when it came to the legs. I canโt not use a drill to assemble this stuff. Even when they say not to. So to install the seat to the legs, I used a drill and a hex bit. You have to drill SLOWLY so you donโt strip the screw. Just bad metals all around. I love how the stool looks. I bought 4 more for my island. Again, please donโt make a limit of one. Itโs unreasonable.

Very pleased
These stools are very sturdy and look great. I bought two and they are exactly what I needed. The stools were easy to assemble overall, but the difficulty was getting the screws to screw in all the way. I did not attempt to screw them in all the way. I simply screwed them in as far as I could and that made the benches quite sturdy enough. The screws are not noticeable unless you are really inspecting it. Given the price, sturdiness, and attractiveness of the product I still give it 5 stars.

I bought 6 and theyโre great!
When I bought these I was worried the huge curves in the seat would be uncomfortable or feel weird but theyโve been really comfortable for a hard seat. I thought they were a total breeze to put together and did it with a drill. It took about 10-15 minutes per stool and I bought 6 of them! All of the parts were included and nothing was damaged. The only complaint I have is that once I put them together several of them rocked if I tested them with my hands, but once I sat on them they were sturdy and did not move at all. My kids (ages 3-10) love them so far and donโt have trouble getting up and down. Definitely worth the money. Update: Iโve had these stools for over a year now. Since sitting on them, they have leveled out really well and no longer rock at all. Iโve only needed to tighten them once so far and none of my four kids have fallen off or had them slip out from under them. We still love them!

This is the stool you are looking for!!!
Do not over tighten the screws. The heads will snap off! But it will still hold the stool together very well even with out the head lol. Put a little tight bond glue in all the holes too. But I bought several stools and return them all to different local hardware stores and then I bought this one and it was exactly what I wanted. I use this stool everyday multiple times a day. Also I have had this stool for 4 months now. *It is now November 30th 2022 and this stool is still awesome. Doesn't wobble still sturdy and the broken head screw or two are still holding strong. Always put a little wood glue in the holes of anything you're screwing together!!! Buy this stool!!!

Wobbly and one of the crossbars is splitting
Bought this stool about a year and a half ago and it's fine, but it's been frustratingly not great for how much it costs. I didn't use a drill or buy special hardware, just followed instructions, and the stool is constantly wobbly and squeaky and the screws come loose. Even when they're fully hand tightened, the stool is still wobbly. It's functional as a stool, but for the price there shouldn't be special assembly or buying additional parts required. It looks nice, but I'll be looking for a better replacement and am annoyed to have spent as much as I did on it if I'm just going to replace it a year and a half later. Most recently noticed that one of the crossbars is splitting as well, which adds to the frustration around the quality of the product. Likely from the constant wobbling the stool does.

Really impressed by the quality
I don't really know what to say other than I'm extremely impressed with the quality of these. These stools are really really nice, a slightly lighter colour than the picture, which for us was perfect! not actually sure what wood they are but match almost perfectly with the ash furniture we have in the same room In fact, given the price of the rest of our ash furniture, these are at least as good quality if not better A little assembly required and not entirely foolproof, but overall, a really nice product

Great stools! Just buy your own screws
They are great quality stools! Easy to put together, sturdy and actually comfortable. The only issue is the screws they come with are crap. They break super easy. We had to return one stool because the screw snapped off inside the leg while screwing it in and we couldnโt get it out. I went to the hardware store and bought 1.5โ wood screws and used those instead and havenโt had a problem. Love them. Highly recommend

Never arrived.
Tracker said the stools were delivered but they never arrived. I called FedEx. They sent the stools to someone else's address. Very strange. Full refund requested. Wish they had showed up, I genuinely liked this product.
