Silhouette America Temporary Tattoo Paper for Inkjet Printers

OVERALL: Great product! Will last you well over a day, even through brushing against people and repeated movement. It was very simple to use. For all my future temporary tattoo needs, I would purchase this product again. PROS: The process to print out a tattoo was very straightforward. I recommend test printing on regular sheets of paper to make sure you know which side your printer will print the image. There is a glossy and a matte side, and you want to print your image on the glossy side. Print it with your printer's photo settings (I didn't and it turned out fine, but it is recommended by the manufacturer). Instructions recommend an inkjet printer, but I used an office laserjet printer and it worked just as well. Once you print your image, wait until the ink has dried and then very carefully apply the adhesive film to the sheet. This is how your tattoo will stick to your skin. With extra help, I was able to do it with minimal air bubbles. Application was a BREEZE. With a damp towel, I applied the tattoo and it transferred to my skin instantaneously. No slip and slide like with some other temporary tattoos. Just make sure your towel is generously soaked with water. Once applied, it was still a little sticky but after airdrying, it didn't budge! CONS: ONLY COMES WITH TWO SHEETS! I thought it came with at least four, which is what I needed, but I didn't read quite as closely as I should have before purchasing. Ended up working out fine for my situation, but for those looking to test print tattoos or have larger pieces they need to print, buy multiple! For a full sleeve application, the paper is stiff. Make sure either with your print or your cut that you account for the curve of your arm. Don't try to apply the full sheet to your arm. Otherwise, it may not apply straight-on. When printing with a laserjet, you may find that upon application, some of your ink will still peel up off the sheet. Spots of my black ink came up when I peeled the plastic film, but it wasn't that noticeable when I applied it to the skin. Also, this thing is really effective at staying put. After a full-day's wear, I went to shower and take it off. Like the directions said, I used warm water and soap. Since I had a full sleeve, I removed it in the shower and used a loofah. It hardly peeled. I had to scrub really hard to get it to start to come off, but since I had a full sleeve, it started to tug at my arm's peach fuzz (which was a little painful). At that point, my arm started to get red. It's been two days and there are still little bits and pieces remaining on my arm.

I got this product because I am considering getting a tattoo and felt the $10 investment, to get a look at what might happen to my leg could look like, was reasonable. It was really worth it. Not just for my original purpose; but for all of the fun it created. This product is exactly as described. It's easy to use, fun to use, and would be a great party or "going to a team sport" toy. Here's how I used it: - used PowerPoint to fill a 8.5" x 11" document with various tattoo ideas/images (about 20 various sized/shaped images on 1 sheet) - in PowerPoint I "grouped" all of the images as one and then reversed them (reversing images is necessary - especially for text) - I did a sample printing on regular paper to make sure my sizes and margins were all ok (& to verify which side of the paper my printer used) - I used the external feed device on my printer (a Lexmark C544n laser) to feed the tattoo paper through (I used glossy finish, heavy paper settings) - I allowed the tattoo paper a long time to dry (don't know if necessary, but I was at work so an hour or two did not matter - I applied the "sticky/glue/transfer" sheet to the tattoo paper (was easy, but you need to be careful, slow and patient). Very carefully use the small tear off strip on the end of the glue paper to align everything and then peel and apply slowly/carefully so to avoid folds/bubbles. - I then used a plastic ruler to rub the glue paper onto the tattoo paper - Using scissors I cut out the tattoo I wanted to use, tore off the backing and placed on my clean/dry skin (calf). I applied a wet/very damp cloth over the tattoo/leg and waited about 15-20 seconds. The tattoo paper slides off of your leg and leaves the tattoo where you placed it (very much like applying decals to model cars) - I let the tattoo air dry. - the tattoo lasted 3 or 4 days (showering every day but not directly touching/cleaning the tattoo area)

If it weren't for other reviewers leaving instructions and tips, I would have likely bungled this. The paper comes with very limited instructions and should have had a firm piece of cardboard to prevent it from bending, as the paper arrived bent. Nonetheless, it didn't seem to impact the printing at all. I can't echo another reviewer enough when I say get help or a healthy dose of patience when applying the glue paper to the print. I didn't find it to be as forgiving as some commented and had to waste one page due to bubbles. For the price, that was not fun because this paper is OUTRAGEOUSLY priced! I let the "tattoo" cure for several days before applying and it applied easily and stayed on well. I wasn't trying to remove it with any expediency, but without trying to remove it, it lasted for 48 hours before it started wearing off. It took a full week of clothes rubbing against it and daily washing before it was fully gone.

Good stuff. I used this to print out small tattoos as well as tiny nail decals, and both worked very well. Printing: No issues with smearing of the printer ink (color inkjet). Images came out clear, even for the <1/4" images. I was worried about having trouble applying the adhesive sheet and left margins on all edges, but I totally didn't need to. Both sheets went on near perfectly. I ended up doodling in the tattoo sheet margins with a permanent marker so that I could maximize my tattoos. Even those worked! Adhesive sheet: No issues at all, and it was easy. After peeling off the small rectangle of backing, I was able to easily line up the two sheets and press them together at the bottom. From there, I slowly rolled off the backing and used a credit card to smooth it out/apply pressure to adhere from the center out. This whole process went very smoothly. No air bubbles, no accidental sticking. The backing came off very easily and smoothly. Application: I cut my tattoos out with scissors. My tiny tattoos released from the paper backing very quickly, and were so easy to apply. If you decide to use these as nail decals, be sure to smooth them down to squeeze out any water or air bubbles before the tattoo dries! Longevity: I haven't had these on for too long, but they seem to be doing okay so far. I applied a small tattoo about 8 hours ago on my wrist, and it has withstood a half-dozen gentle hand washings. The nail decals did not bleed or shift when applying a topcoat, and are thin enough that I can't feel them through the dried polish. You can faintly see the outline of where I trimmed the tattoos, but it's not too obvious. Overall: I am super happy with these sheets! They were a ton of fun to use, and although expensive (you only get two sheets), I would get them again.

I bought this because my kiddo loves both drawing and temporary tattoos, so then I was a little disappointed when all of the instructions were about using an inkjet printer. But we did some experiments, and the good news is that you can make your tattoos freehand with permanent markers, too! We found that you can just draw on the shiny side of the white paper, and then follow the directions as usual. Washable kid markers transferred to the tattoo material successfully, but then the ink came off the tattoo after (say) washing your hands a couple of times. So permanent markers seem to be the best bet. We just stayed away from any writing to avoid having to draw backwards letters. The kit’s instructions are geared toward making a full 8.5 x 11 sheet of tattoos at a time. We settled on holding the two sheets (the green and the white) together and cutting out very roughly 2” squares or rectangles—this way a kid can make just a couple of tattoos at a time, and at least in our house it helped to limit the artworks to a more “standard temporary tattoo” size. Drawing the tattoo in pencil on the white paper before switching to permanent markers can help avoid wasting any of the material. Otherwise we stuck to the instructions: design goes on the glossy side of the white paper, peel the clear plastic layer off of green backing, apply that sticky clear layer on top of your design, and then give a good firm press to rub out any bubbles. Once or twice we picked up a bit of the sticky layer when trying to remove the thin clear film just prior to applying a tattoo, and in those cases just rubbing the plastic firmly a bit more usually fixed it. When you’re about to apply the tattoo the film that comes off should be thin and a little brittle-feeling, just as usual with temporary tattoos. This morning my little one’s off to school with a custom tattoo for a friend (packed in a plastic snack bag), which is super fun!

First off I'd like to start by saying recently the sheets I'm getting come in just a manila envelope with no support. So the sheets I get have hard creases in them. And the Tattoos printed in those areas don't stick. So not happy about how they are shipping them. I've used maybe 20+ sheets of these before. Tattoos print, as well as your printer will print. The Quality of the tattoos has never been affected by the paper itself. Getting the plastic on straight and without air bubbles isn't too difficult. Sometimes I get a good press other times I don't and have a bit of air bubbles. The plastic is sometimes hard to peel off and can rip depending on shape of tattoo, that can be annoying. The Tattoos always seem to transfer fine. Don't think I've ever had one Not transfer. They do wash off very easy though, but you have to realize, you're using an inkjet printer with normal ink. So don't expect them to be waterproof, that's just common sense right there. The sticky residue that is leaves is the worse part. You have to use Alcohol to get it off. The people saying Alcohol didn't work, didn't actually try alcohol. It 100% works. It doesn't just wipe clean off with one swipe, but with alittle cleaning with a cotton ball it comes right off. But it is quite sticky and will want to be removed as soon as the ink has washed off it. All in all it's not a bad product. Is it overpriced? Depends on what you consider overpriced and what the price was at the time. Already printed Temporary tattoos usually look like crap the next day anyways and most people clean them off. Especially if you shower daily. So I don't see the issue with these lasting only a day or not being able to get wet. You have to realize what you are purchasing. And Most kids and naughty wives enjoy the Tattoos enough when they first get them on to make it well worth it. Just my opinion. Again, Do something about the shipping container for them so they don't get creased.

Not good. The ink came off when removing the plastic sheet after following all the rest of the directions and being super excited about how it was going. Once the plastic was removed sections of the darker color were still on the plastic part. Then as soon is the temporary tattoo got wet the color washed away and what was left was just a very tacky sticky area where the clear area was. Fairly easy to use but not effective didn’t last through one shower.

I have two little boys who love to cover themselves in tattoos. One of them is having a Lego birthday party and we could not find Lego themed tattoos (or any party supplies for that matter, but that's a different post). I saw this product, and though pricey per sheet, figured I'd give it a try. I downloaded digital stickers from Lego's website and painstakingly cut and pasted them in Photoshop so I could squeeze as many onto a single page as I could. I do not have the Silhouette machine. I have a Canon Pro printer and simply printed straight onto the paper using the Glossy Photo setting. I waited a couple hours to be certain the ink was fully dry, though I'm sure it didn't take near that long. The green adhesive sheet is easier to apply than I expected. It has a strip at the top you peel off and attach to the top of your printed page. Then you carefully peel the rest off as you lay it across the paper. I used a Pampered Chef stoneware scraper to rub over the whole thing (this is what I use when I apply vinyl decals on my walls). I'm not sure this step is crucial, but since this is expensive paper I wanted to get it right the first try! I then cut my sheets into 25 cute little Lego man rectangles with my scrapbooking paper cutter. The plastic layer seems to stay in place better than most store bought tattoos, which we have a lot of. Adhering the tattoo was just as simple as any other. The only minor imperfection, which if you have a Silhouette you will not experience, is that you can see a line where the clear adhesive around your image is on the child's skin. The only way to prevent this is to cut the tattoo out around the image. Who has time for that! (Unless you have the fancy machine, which I've yet to see any reason to invest in) The kids will not care. It's a minor detail. At roughly 18 cents a tattoo (and I could have probably squeezed even more if I was willing to cut directly around the images), I say this was a great purchase for the hard-to-find or non-existent tattoos for a special occasion. I can see us having lots of fun personalizing our tattoos in the future! I have already had a thought that the next time we go to Disney World I will be making some cute tattoos with "lost child" info on them for the kids to wear. Happy tattooing! :-D

Good quality priduct. But I think its a bit too costly, might be coz its an american product. But otherwise very well satisfied with the product..

Ich hatte mir die Tattoofolie gemeinsam mit einer Freundin bestellt, weil wir beide unabhängig voneinander unser erstes Tattoo planten. Mithilfe der Folie wollten wir unser jeweiliges Wunschmotiv einige Tage lang so realistisch wie möglich auf der Haut tragen, um herauszufinden, ob es uns wirklich gefällt und wir es ein Leben lang behalten wollen. Nachdem wir die Motive gedruckt hatten (Seite ruhig so voll wie möglich packen, man kann jeden Bogen nur einmal nutzen) und eine kurze Trockenzeit abwarteten, schnitten wir sie aus und platzierten sie sogleich auf der Haut. Der Vorgang selbst funktioniert ebenso gut, wie bei klassischen Klebetattoos: Folie abziehen, Motiv auf der Haut platzieren, mit einem feuchten Tuch abdecken, kurz warten und wenn alles gut durchfeuchtet ist, das Papier entfernen. Optisch hängt die Qualität natürlich grundsätzlich erstmal vom Können des Druckers ab. Ist diese aber gegeben, sieht das Tattoo täuschend echt aus. Nur im Licht erkennt man die glänzende Folie. Auch bei der Haltbarkeit kann man nicht meckern. Sogar Wasserkontakt hält die Folie in gewissem Rahmen aus. Nach einer ausgiebigen Dusche löst sie sich allerdings, bzw. klebt durch das Aufweichen sehr stark. Schützt man das Tattoo hingegen vor starker Feuchtigkeit, bleibt es tagelang ohne Probleme haften. Entfernen lässt sich die Folie grundsätzlich gut, ich würde das jedoch in trockenem Zustand empfehlen. Zieht man sie trocken ab, lässt sie sich ohne Mühe entfernen und hinterlässt keinerlei Reste auf der Haut. Wenn sie aber einmal ordentlich durchnässt wurde, kann man die Folie nicht mehr im Ganzen von der Haut abziehen. Zudem beginnt sie, wie bereits oben beschrieben, unangenehm zu kleben und es bleiben Kleber-/Motivrückstände auf der Haut zurück. Diese lassen sich mit Alkohol/Öl jedoch leicht entfernen. Insgesamt eignet sich die Folie für Klebetattoos sehr gut und man hat je nach Pflegeaufwand einige Tage Freude daran. Ein Tipp noch bei Schriftzügen: Unbedingt spiegelverkehrt ausdrucken, wenn man sie in lesbarer Form auf der Haut tragen möchte. Bei unseren Motiven war die spiegelverkehrte Variante auf der Haut allerdings Absicht ;)

Excelente y muy sencillo de usar. Personalmente, lo utilicé para "tatuar" unos muñecos y me funcionaron de maravilla. Yo dibujé digitalmente cada tatuaje, lo acomodé en el lienzo necesario y lo volteé como espejo (recuerden que la impresión debe ser así, si no, tu diseño te va a salir al revés), en una papelería imprimí ya que mi impresora no es InkJet, y apliqué con agua. Recomiendo ampliamente :)
