Worked for me.
I didn't have any trouble with these after practicing a few times. I dipped them in powdered sugar and the came out pretty well. I didn't push them all the way through to a solid surface, though, so I don't know how that would work. I pushed them half way through to a second color of fondant. Not as super clean cut but it worked ok for my purposes.
