Perfect Backpack. I love it.
Arrived quickly. Tried it on for size and felt the pack was rubbing against my neck. I was so disappointed because I love Osprey and I love the look of this pack. I also have another older Osprey which is for heavier hikes. I’ve been hiking for over 20 years and I know backpacks will tend to loosen up a bit over time. I almost returned this backpack but I decided to pack it as if I was going on a hike. That took the pressure off of the neck and it was perfect. With that, I decided to keep it. This pack is very well made and has 2 side pockets for water, a compartment for a water bladder and enough pockets to hold your gear. It lives up to the Osprey name and it’s a great little pack for day hikes and will hold an additional set of clothes. I love this little backpack. Osprey also has a guarantee on their packs, no matter how long you’ve owned it. Update: took it on a hike today and I love it even more. Small enough yet holds a good amount of gear. Side pockets hold good sized water bottles. Very Comfortable.

GREAT BACKPACK!
I am a huge fan of Osprey backpacks. I have the Fairview 40, Farpoint 40, and the Porter 55. It was only natural I purchased an Ospey Daypack. This Daypack has gone everywhere with me from traveling around the US to backpacking in Vietnam! I even use this backpack daily to go to and from work. This is my analysis of the daypack: 1. The backpack is durable. I've had it for over a year and the backpack is still in perfect shape, even after every day use! 2. The backpack is light! It's the lightest bag I've ever used, which makes it ideal for traveling/commuting. 3. The backpack is aesthetically pleasing. The Daypack looks great as an every day bag in a corporate environment. So much so, my boss is going to purchase one for herself. 4. The backpack is a great price! For the price point, I don't believe you can get a better bag. 5. The backpack holds a lot, even tho it's small. In my photo I have a laptop, 2 laptop chargers, and two note pads in the bag. Cons: 1. The side pockets are SO tiny! You can't fit a water bottle in the pocket and expect it to not fall out. Things to note: I did read some reviews regarding the size of the bag. The bag fits me and my husband perfectly. For reference, I am 5'5'' and have a slender build and my husband is 5'10'' with a muscular build. Overall, this backpack is the best bag I've ever had. It deserves a FIVE STAR review! I love it so much, I purchased one for my husband and one for my dad.

Attachment to Aether 85
I bought this as an attachment to my Aether 85 as a hydropack for day hiking away from base camp. Like others commented, this is a hydropack. I will not be using the side pockets for water bottles. Rather they will be used for wet stuff like a swim suit after taking a dip. I haven’t field tested this hydropack yet, but I’m about to take it on a week-long backpacking trip. Giving it a 4 based on my initial impressions. I will update after. Attachment: The buckle/hooks on the Daylite fit snug in the lower loops on my Aether, but the upper loops seem to be a tad loose (too long?). It will stay in place because the Aether has outer cinch straps that will run over top it. But if I didn’t have these I would just run the Daylite’s side cinch straps (with the buckle/hook) through the Aether upper loops to be sure. It would probably be okay but it’s best to not risk it popping out while hiking. This is an minor Aether loop issue, not a Daylite issue though. Color: I got the the Stone Grey Daylite hoping that it would be close to the Midnight Blue Aether. It’s not perfect but it’s close enough not to be glaringly or annoying. I can live with it. Build: Quality is the same as my Aether. Tough and durable material; good quality stitching, zippers, and buckles. The hip strap is unpadded webbing, but this is an attachment pack so that’s fine to cut weight. The chest strap has the standard whistle in the buckle. The back is lightly padded mesh for venting. And the shoulder straps are lightly padded. Again, this is an attachment pack so I don’t want all the frills of a urban pack. It seems they hit the minimum creature comforts to fit the light weight hydropack category and they still ended up with a quality pack. Fit: Pretty comfortable mucking about at home. A backpacking trip will the proof. Hydro: The hydro pocket is just barely long enough to fit my 3L CamelBak bladder. I like how the hydro bladder pocket is outside of the pack’s main storage pocket rather than instead inside it. This makes it easier to fill without needing to open the pack. Also the pocket has the standard bladder hook with buckle to fit any brand of bladder.

hands free double shoulder purse
This smallish, sort of narrow, well organized daypack makes a great alternative to a regular purse. It’s so nice to not only have room for everything plus diaper bag items when I need them or small purchases but to have my hands free and not have all the weight of my bag on one shoulder. I can wear this pack all day and hardly notice it’s there even with a water bottle. There is the big main pocket which has a thin vertical divider across it. One side could be used for paperwork or a small laptop (my MacBook fits). It’s not padded but it is up against your back with your stuff on the other side of it so it does have some protection. There’s also a front pocket with a bunch of smaller pockets in it. This pocket is shallow but holds a lot and keeps it organized. It’s a good spot for all those little things like lip balm and wallet items. I keep a small luggage lock on the zippers if I’m going to be in a crowd but an integrated lock would be appreciated. This bag attaches to other osprey bags which is why I originally got it. I like it for travel to use as my bag on the plane then I can attach it to my porter backpack and have only one bag to carry. It works well for this purpose and means I don’t have to bring along a purse and carry on and bag for the plane for short trips. Overall there are a few things I would change, like adding some organization to the main pocket, but it’s a good bag that’s very versatile.

Very good, with some flaws
It's hard to find a full-featured *small* backpack--even this one is a little big for what I wanted, but it's the best I've found so far. It has a lot of great features. The shoulder straps are shaped and padded, and the sternum strap is adjustable and comfortable. The padded back panel gives the bag structure and keeps items from poking you in the back. The main compartment has a stretch pocket against the back panel, which is good for a hydration bladder or anything thin-ish that you want to find easily. The small outer zip pocket is great, with mesh pockets and enough depth to carry small items like keys, cell phone, sunglasses, tissues, etc. The side mesh pocket are nice and deep, but are oddly shaped and a little too big to securely hold water bottles when you take the pack off, or bend over while wearing it. This is one of two main complaints I've read about this bag. I've solved this problem by using a safety pin to make one pocket smaller, and it has worked pretty well. As long as the bottom of the main compartment is packed with something squishy, the bottle is snug in the pocket. The other main complaint I've read is about the built-in grab handle rubbing the back of people's necks. This hasn't been a problem for me, though I think it's because I don't use the waist strap. It does seem to be an odd design choice, since it isn't standard on their other packs. My biggest complaint about the bag is that it doesn't sit upright on its own when you take it off. I realize this is a design feature of hiking packs to keep the load close to your body, but I'd love to have a full-featured bag that could sit upright when I take it off for day-to-day use. So overall it's a well-made pack with great features, but just a few tweaks would make it perfect.

A truly great bag!
8 years later, still a great bag! Perfect size for a light hike. Front pocket is great for little things like keys, wallet, chapstick, etc… Main pocket is big enough for whatever you might need for a day trip. I usually have a small first aid kit, hammock, snacks, water and still have enough room to pack a little more.

Great Buy for Daily Runs
I bought this because I was looking for a bag that I could bring with to work but also take with when I go for runs directly afterwards. This bag is quite spacious and I can honestly say I'm surprised each and every time I try and jam it full of last minute purchases or a change of clothes because it always feels like I can cram just one more thing in there. I will agree with others that the water bottle pockets on the side are essentially useless because there's no way a bottle will stay in there without flopping uselessly to the ground. A bit inconvenient but I've bought a bladder for the back pouch so it's no real problem, at least for me. This works for everything I need it for. It holds my change of clothes, water bladder, wallet, keys, etc. And the chest and waist straps make it a great running bag because if the straps are adequately tightened, that thing isn't moving or jostling around as you run or bike. Overalll, a great buy for me and the few downsides aren't much of a dealbreaker, at least for me. I'd highly recommend for those looking to buy a lightweight, active lifestyle focused backpack.

Great Little Pack
I love this backpack! I got it for small hikes and being outside, and for other adventures of life- like spending the night at a friends house or just having to carry a few things. Its a great size. Its small, but you can be surprised on how much you can fit in there. The small zip open pocket is nice, but not really any bigger than the main compartment, they just kind of share the same space. Just good for organizing small things obviously. Nice big pockets for water bottles/other junk on both sides. Comfortable back and adjustable straps. Sturdy handle to lift with just one hand as well. The sleeve inside which could be used for a camelback also snuggly fits my 14" laptop, which is super handy. I'm a college student and this backpack has been a great option to have in my busy, occasionally adventurous life. It can run a bit expensive however... I got it on sale which was nice. There are a lot of other great packs on amazon that are similar with a lower price that could be worth considering. But with osprey you can be confident you are getting a quality pack.

Small and perfectly formed
Great for holidays. Small, easy bag that can be packed in a larger suitcase but comfy enough for day hikes.
