My daughter asked for this baby for months, with the price tag I was nervous, but it was the main birthday gift she wanted. I’m so happy with the purchase, she plays with it all the time and it truly is a cool toy. The baby changes size for each of the three stages. It has different sounds, outfits and hairstyles for each stage. It even has “dad” mode. It functions great and has become one of the favorite toys in our home.

We got the Baby Alive Grows doll for my daughter for Christmas, and it was a huge hit! She was completely fascinated by each stage of the doll’s growth, from baby to toddler. It’s such a unique and interactive experience, and watching the doll “grow” made playtime extra special. One of the best features is that you can reset the doll and start over from the beginning. My daughter loved going through the process again and again, and it adds so much replay value to the toy. Overall, this is a fantastic gift for kids who love dolls. It’s creative, interactive, and provides hours of entertainment! Highly recommend!

Absolutely a wonderful gift for a 5 year old. My daughter would not let go of her new baby. It is very easy to use. Just in case you are wondering: How it works: On the doll's neck there is a switch that you can turn off or on for her to say Momma or Dada. Mine was turned on to say Mama right our of the box. 1st) Rock baby and feed with toy baby bottle. 2nd) Feed with the other bottle and remove her cap to reveal hair. Help your child pull the hair (few clicks) and it stays long. 3) You will see on step 2 that baby will start to move her legs our of the swaddling blanket. Then stand her up and she grows. It is super cute. 4) To start all over turn the baby off and once you turn it back on she will automatically pull her legs up to swaddle her and her hair retracts back on her head. It is super nice gift you will not regret buying for your little ones. :)

Super cute idea and my daughter loves the changing stages. The legs seems really vulnerable, though. Because they’re set to be a certain way in different stages, too much moving of them causes a click and they go slack like they’re broken. You have to reset the doll to fix them. There’s not much versatility in playing with the doll since her clothes can’t come off for pretend diaper changes or changing outfits and the only stage that can really be played with the most is the oldest where the doll is fully grown, her hair is out and her legs are straight. Even still, my daughter enjoys her for what she can do and has other dolls that can be used in more creative ways.

First off, the fact that some reviewers are upset the fake doll doesn't actually grow, her legs just move, is both ridiculous and untrue. Untrue because her torso does, indeed, get longer as her legs move to the standing position. Ridiculous because what do you expect, it's a doll! Also the complaints of not realizing you're supposed to keep it wrapped as the beginning stages... that's on them for not looking at the giant red "Stop" symbol that tells you when you're opening the wrong end or what to do in the beginning stage. My 6 year old daughter has fallen in love with Star and loves that she can reset her and go through all the stages over and over again. My 9 year old son even gave it a whirl (LOVE that there's a "daddy" setting) and while he wont admit it, he was pretty impressed. As for value, $50 is a lot for a baby, but then again, it's cheaper than an American Girl Doll. My daughter saved up Christmas, bday and report card money and purchased it herself so I'm maybe a little more critical of the price because I'm protective. All in all, it's a fascinating doll and executed well by manufactures. Just don't force the legs into a different position as it can damage the doll. Arms are posable, legs are not.

I really love how the doll is a surprise, you don’t know which one you get until you open it up play with it. Two big features I love so much as a mom of a boy and a girl is the feature of turning the doll in “mommy” or “daddy” mode. The doll says hi mommy or daddy depending on which setting you put it in. You can also in English or Spanish. My children are learning Spanish. The size of the doll is perfect for my child. She got for her 3rd birthday. The accessories are so cute! My favorite is the jelly sandals. Such a cute doll!
