Cards Against Humanity: Family Edition • Ages 8+ • A party game for mature kids and immature adults

This is a brilliant game. Has kids and adults in stitches without fail. Lots of chat about bums, poop and farts, so just right for immature parents and 8+ kids.

Thoroughly enjoyed by 12yr old, parents and grandparents.

My daughter had been talking about this game for ages but I wasn’t prepared to get the adult version. So I gave in and bought this version for her for Christmas thinking I would pretend to enjoy it for her benefit. I couldn’t have been more wrong in my expectation of the game. I loved it! Best game I have played for years. So easy to just start playing without any complicated rules. Three generations of us played this on Christmas Day (one in her 90’s) and we were all laughing uncontrollably. We played it again a week later and although we still enjoyed it, it wasn’t quite as funny as we had seen all the answer cards already. Still good fun though. Perhaps not great value for money at this price.

So much fun. Really enjoyed playing the 'adult version ' of this game and couldn't wait to play this with the family... lots of laughs from 6 year old to nana lots of poop and peeing cards which the boys thought was great. Enjoyable game and even after playing for a few days there are still laughs. I would recommend, a good game for family fun at Christmas.

The best fun over the Christmas period. Inter generational participation. Some people are funnier than they appear.

Having played the original adult version, was great to introduce the concept to our kids and their grandparents (who knew my dad could be so rude!). Great family game! Lots of toilet humour gave my youngest the giggles and my eldest some sniggers as the responses were understood on multiple levels! Warning: take the recommendation to remove any cards younger (or older) players may find offensive seriously. There are a few that whilst not sweary could lead to uncomfortable conversations, or be too upsetting/ inappropriate for your situation. I also removed some cards that my 8 year old wouldn’t understand to save her feeling she wasn’t completely part of the game.

Cards Against Humanity has been a party game staple for several years now, but not always the best for sharing with the family. Heck, even in the right settings, some cards push the self-implemented "edginess" levels to limits that can occasionally push the comfort levels for some. I can live with them, but always appreciated the jokes that went for classic laughs over shock value, so was excited to discover this edition of the game. The cards are ridiculous, childish, and non-sensical, and whilst some of the prompts aren't always to the standard of the base game, the fun is never lost to overly family friendly concerns. The answers still aren't entirely "clean" for the most conservative families, but think poopie jokes and innuendos rather than lines about sex and murder. For the record, I didn't specifically buy this for family play, just for a whimsical addition to all adult games nights, and the jokes still go down a treat. One area the game didn't impress, however, was the production. The cards are notably not as high quality as my original UK base set, and the box itself arrived indented and damaged, seemingly before being packed. The printing is also inconsistent, with the text on some cards very close to the top edge on some and slightly fainter or off centre on others. Of course, none of this directly detracts from the fun of the game, but I expected a higher quality of product, whereas this feels like it was rushed by cost cutting at the production line stage. One final note for anyone looking to mix the cards with their other CAH sets, the backs of the cards have a distinct pattern which would notably clash with the original, plain black card design, so they are best kept in separate sets.

This was a Christmas gift for my teenager who had heard about Cards against Humanity. It came out at Christmas lunch with extended family, participants ages ranged from 14 to 80. We played for several hours and while some people thought this version was a bit tame, we all still had a good time and quite a few laughs. It was interesting to note what one person found funniest is not what others would have picked, so some strategy came into play. Another family friendly and youth friendly game to get people off of devices and connecting and interacting with each other.
