Beware, if you buy it you will use it all the time :-)
The machine is really good, it is heavy and sturdy and easy to use. Yes there is some noise when it is working but like the washing machine you soon get used to it. we have only used an icecream mix in it but it comes out really well just like the Mr Whippy. The machine is easy to use with clear instructions on the display. Cleaning is simple and straight forward with everything unscrewing easily. The only downside is we eat a lot more icecream now but it has been an absolute god send in this heat wave and despite the initial outlay, it works out cheaper than constantly buying icecream.

When it breaks (and it will) - Customer services will leave you frustrated
Purchased the ice cream machine earlier this year, and this worked well for the first two months, delivering some good quality ice cream (I used premade mixes). I then noticed a burning smell during use and the machine stopped working properly (losing the ability to freeze the ice cream correctly), and I contacted the seller with concerns around a faulty motor/product. This is where things go downhill, and a quick look at other reviews indicates the problems I have experienced is a widespread issue. I'm told that I cannot return past 30 days, and I need to send the item back to a warehouse in Germany. That includes sourcing suitable packaging for a 30KG+ machine, and getting it to a courier office (in comparison to a seller-organized collection for heavy items outlined in Amazon's policy). I'm then offered a 20% discount to keep the broken machine and try to find the spare parts to repair myself. The supplier does not have spare parts, or share details on where to source. Further investigation shows this this a generic machine made in China (not Germany), and parts are not available. So in all, I'm being asked to front 80% of the product cost for scrap metal. Having pushed back on this, I'm then hit with more templated responses to advise they will not arrange collection, and I don't have the right to a return beyond 30 days. I'm now left out of pocket, and frustrated with both the machine itself and the customer service provided by Klarstein. Do yourself a favour - Don't buy this. It would be zero stars if I had the option.

Don't think twice, this is the best ice cream maker for home use!
This has to be the best ice cream maker on the market. Not easy to find, so if it's available on Amazon, snap it up. It is important to know that this machine has its fridge/freezer within the machine; you do not have to remove a bowl and place it in the freezer for hours beforehand. Using it for the first time did not disappoint. We used Kerrymaid mix, which was great. It has its own timer, and it took 40 minutes to mix the ice cream, and it turned out perfectly. It is such great value for money compared to others. But best of all, IT IS EASY TO CLEAN. I was worried that I would have great ice cream but then have loads of bits and pieces to clean and put back together, but it cleans itself perfectly, with just one part that needs a little extra cleaning. This is a heavy appliance and of high quality throughout. The grandchildren loved it, as did the adults. It makes enough ice cream in 40 minutes for approximately 6 servings. I think I've covered everything LOL

Very easy to use machine
Never thought I would find such an easy, soft serve ice cream maker. Pour the mix in and press start then 40 mins later you have perfect ice cream. We have only used one mix so far which is the Danica soft ice mix and it’s exactly the same you would buy from a van if not better. We got the machine on offer and would recommend to anybody who has children or loves an ice cream. 700ml of mix gets around 7-8 large ice creams. Very easy to clean the machine after use .

Works well
I bought this machine on a whim, mid winter, craving mr whippy. It did take a while longer to arrive than stated, as it’s actually shipped from Germany, so I was worried that I’d be hit with a duty invoice, but luckily I haven’t (so far, will update if I receive one!) The machine itself seems very well made. It’s reasonably heavy, sturdy and stable. The operating volume is quieter than I expected, comparable to a bread maker, loudish, but not annoyingly so. The kids thought it was hilarious when I put ice cream van music on YouTube :) The instructions do leave something to be desired, the cleaning cycle instructions aren’t very clear, but it is very simple to wipe out with a soapy sponge and rinse through. Most importantly, it makes ice cream perfectly, as you can see in my photo. I used the premade soft ice cream cartons. The star nozzle/washer does leak however, but not massively, and I’m sure I’ll be able to find a thicker washer. Any drips are caught by the drip tray anyway. So it was a big hit with my kids and other family members, and we’ve made a little ice cream factory with sauces and sprinkles. Now I’m on the hunt for the perfect ice cream mix! Edit to add. The silicone sleeve on the handle plunger has a tiny hole in it, which has been letting ice cream into the inside of the unit. I managed to take it all apart and it was absolutely disgusting in there. The seller has told me this isn’t a part they can replace, so I’m waiting to hear if they’ll exchange the whole machine for me

Stay away.
Well, initially it was a great ice cream maker but the seals went after 14 months and it was dripping badly from the housing and nozzle. Contacted the seller and all I got was an automated response and no resolution to replacement seals. Ended up putting in a claim via Amazon A to Z guarantee and received a full refund. Machine works well but the seals are pure pants.

Real Mr. Whippy Ice Cream at Home
I love this machine. I wanted a way to hit that nostalgic soft-serve craving at home and the Klarstein does it perfectly. It makes real soft-serve ice cream like you've had from the Mr. Whippy van. I've had it now for about a month, during which I've made up a batch of ice cream more-or-less every other day. Some observations from this time: - Easy to use, makes perfect soft serve ice cream every time (with a range of mixes - see below) - Batches of 0.5l get a good consistency after 40 mins, 1l about 65 mins - Different mixes hold different amounts of air, so will give more or fewer servings, but in general 0.5l of mix yields 4 large ice creams - Self-cleaning is pretty limited - make sure you properly take out the paddle and give everything a proper clean after each use I have tried many different mixes and recipes in this machine, and everything has come out great, but I have definitely discovered some which I prefer to others. Here are a few of my favourites: - Jersey Gold Pre-Made Ice Cream Mix: a little pricey, but easy to use; just pour it in. Yields a very creamy ice cream, albeit not one which hits that nostalgia spot (because it is too good). - Dessertify Classic Ice Cream Powder: per ice cream works out very cheap. You can mix with just milk, but result is too airy and light for my tastes. Instead I use 300ml semi-skimmed UHT milk + 200ml single cream + 150g mix (a bit less than instructions say), and this really hits my nostalgia spot. Objectively this is probably the worst tasting ice cream on the list, with quite a fake vanilla flavour, but still lovely and reminds me most of ice creams by the seaside. - Recipe from manual: manual has a recipe for a mix with just cream, milk and sugar. I tweaked it and used 200ml double elmlea (better than 'real' cream as emulsifiers keep mix stable), 300ml semi-skimmed UHT milk, 85g caster sugar, splash of vanilla extract. Blend it up to dissolve the sugar. Gives a very 'pure' flavoured ice cream which is a little denser than the other options but still great. - Franken-mix: this is my favourite mix I've come up so far with via experimentation, yielding a very creamy ice cream which holds its form really well (similar to McDonalds ice cream) with just the right amount of vanilla flavour. 250ml semi-skimmed UHT milk + 150ml Ambrosia Deluxe Custard + 100ml Elmlea Double + 60g Dessertify Powder Mix + 50g caster sugar.

Just about ok but not great
Product support is non existent. The machine produces soft scoop ice cream but it's very soft and increasing the programme time makes no difference to the consistency of the final result. There are no clear instructions about the need to strip the machine down after use and the cleaning programme doesn't clean all those areas that would become contaminated with product.

2 Maschienen gekauft beide Schrott!!!

Super Softeis
Was soll ich sagen.
