These are fantastic. Superb quality, sharp right out of the box, cuts clean precise holes with very little effort. The tool roll keeps them protected and organized, the small punching block was an unexpected extra. 10/10

I was surprisingly pleased with this purchase. The previous punches that came in a tool kit I had purchased were not able to punch through my 4-5 oz. leather items. These punch very well, right down to the smallest size. They came in a handy fabric case, and both the case slots and the punches were labeled with their appropriate size, making it easy to grab and put back properly. I noticed earlier reviewers (3 to 5 years ago) were not happy with the quality and the punches ability to punch a proper hole, but recent reviews were much more positive, so I took a chance. I'm so glad I did. The price was great, as well.

December 23, 2025Five years and going strong. I'm still a hobbyist, but the endurance for my set of punches is impressive. I have only stropped the 2mm a couple of times for the amount I use it. I never did go after a 2.18mm as this works just fine. The finish on the barrel is such I use a tea candle to wax them to make the slip through the leather easier. I have gone through as thick as 10 oz with just a couple of whacks. It helps to have a solid base such as a granite slab topped with a poundo board, otherwise you're wasting energy. I still stand with my initial review and I'm adding a picture.January 24, 2021The punches arrived nice and sharp, ready for use in a nice canvass roll up.For one off punching leather, these punches will work great. I found punching 4-5 oz leather, I had to work the plugs out of the punch with my awl after 2 or 3 punches. The punch poop gutters don't provide for easy exit as you punch multiple holes.I'm not totally disappointed with the product as it does provide good value for the money spent, but I will need to buy a 1.8 mm punch with a better gutter.

Good quality and sharp out of the package

Happy I bought a whole set, since the punch I thought I needed would not have been the ideal size. The little nylon matt included with the set seemed a bit hard however so I used an artist's self-healing cutting matt instead. With the softer self-healing matt, I was able to punch over 400 holes in heavy-weight paper with a single punch and it still retains its sharpness.

These are great punches for the value. I’m writing this review years later and I am happy to say I still use this same complete set of punches. I do everything from saddles to belts to wallets, and it has held up with every weight and type of leather that I have used. If you need punches look no further.

These work very well for my projects. I work with high density foam sheets of varying thicknesses and these hole punches are really great. They don't work on fabric though.

Good quality product

I am very pleased with my purchase. Being relatively new to leatherwork, I am very glad to have come across the Oden’s leather hole punches. They are great value for the price, and seem very durable.I have already used all three sizes included for numerous projects, and they have performed perfectly, while holding a nice sharp edge. They literally punch holes through thick 8-10 oz veg tan leather like butter.Not only am I very impressed with the product itself, but the packaging it arrives in. The tool roll keeps them organized, and protects the edges from damage and keeps them sharp.I look forward to adding more Oden’s products and tools to my leatherwork bench.
