Very good value phone -- can be changed to English
This is very nice entry-level / value phone. It's very thin and light. It has dual SIM + sdcard. It's really good for every day tasks (Chrome and Firefox for browsing the web, Gmail, SMS, or some light non-demanding games).I like the large screen with the little camera notch. Screen is bright and easy to read.It has VoLTE support on T-Mobile, as well as Wifi Calling. It supports all the frequencies from T-Mobile and works really well with that network. It also works well with Android Auto for GPS navigation.Only cons: the camera is "just good". It's not bad, it does 1080p videos (or at least they look like). It just has a regular quality, and works well in daylight. It's not surprisingly stellar though so don't even try to compare it with these fancy phones with multi-camera arrays that cost 5x or 6x the price. Two tips based on other comments I read here:- It can absolutely be made to display in ENGLISH ==> when the phone boots the first time, the Android system display a screen in Spanish which actually asks which language the user wants. Tap on the list to display the language choices and scroll UP. "English (US)" is a choice just above Español. Select it and the whole phone switches to English. Again, this is on the very very first screen the first time you boot the phone or after a factory reset.- If you have already configured the phone in Spanish, you can still easily change the language. Android supports 40 languages or more. Just drop down from the notification area, use the gear icon to get to the Android settings, and use Systema > Idioma > Agregar un idoma > English and make it the first choice.

It worked right out of the box
I ordered the Samsung Galaxy A01 with unknown expectations and I ended up being pleasantly surprised. This phone might not have all the bells and whistles of a model 5 or 10 times its price' but for around a hundred bucks, it is a great bargain. The phone itself is light. Its battery is built in and not replaceable. The rear (main) camera is decent and I think it's 13 megapixels; the front (selfie) camera is 5 megapixels (I think). The phone does not have video editing software built in, but there are downloadable apps from the Samsung and Google Play Store. Now for some important and relevant information: this phone worked right out of the box with my GSM carrier (T-Mobile). The phone supports VOLTE and the sound/connection quality is good. Keep in mind that if you do but this new, you will use a little needle like SIM tray opener to open and access your SIM card area. It runs Android 10 and the newest security patch is from June 2020. Also important to mention: this phone will offer language selection during setup. English, Spanish, French, and many other languages are available.Overall, this phone is worth the investment and has more than enough features for everyday users.

International phone not as easy to activate.
A good phone that can have a lot of capabilities, but I was disappointed in the camera..very few settings and none for the amount of light. A few hiccups also with language for texting..make sure you swipe for English even tho you set that initially as the phone's language it didn't include text.

Does not support Straight Talk VoLTE
The device itself was perfectly fine. I got this for straight talk, but had to switch devices because it did not support VoLTE.

Very good phone. Great value. Plays Spotify several hours at a time without draining the battery much at all. Android 9 runs great on it. Brightness is great. If you're on a budget I know this and the Lg Stylo 4/5 are both great options.

Selling out of date phones w/new A01 look
The phones look good on the outside but do not work on any carrier above 2G GSM or CDMA which makes any of the phones useless from this company. I planned to keep the 2 phones I purchased regardless of carrier but after finding out they can't be used on current technologies they are completely worthless. I wasted 3 weeks on these phones. Better off going to the phone retailer.

Garbage, dumbed down UI
This is a really restrictive UI. I'm very unhappy with it. The biggest problem with this phone is that it only allows you to use the SD card as external storage, but it won't grant access to that memory for many apps that should be able to use it. Even if you enable moving applications to external storage in the developer options, the UI does not support it.The keyboard is very slow and unresponsive. Text selection is inaccurate at best, and very frustrating.Another big problem is that it is not "AT&T HD Voice" compatible (I got that directly from AT&T tech support), so do not expect it to work with AT&T after 2021. If you expect your phones to last a while, just know that this one has a built in expiration date. The phone does not come with a screen protector, and the glass does not feel nice to touch like screen protectors do. For those reasons, I strongly recommend getting a screen protector if you do get this phone. Also of note, this phone does not fit well in a RAM mount. One of the buttons is constantly being pressed. This is an absolute deal breaker for any motorcycle rider.
