Perfect for a classic car dash speaker
I have killer stereo in my classic Grand Prix. I could go into detail but that would not be useful to you. I was looking to improve my front sound stage to make it sound more in front of me. I cannot mount speakers in the A-pillars, I already have speakers up high in the doors. The speakers in the sides of the console and the kick panels cause what is known as "comb filtering" (sounds horrible) I tried speakers in boxes on the floor pointing up but that did not work either. My next experiment was a small center channel speaker on the dash facing the listener. Now I was onto something. However, it is a safety hazard if there was an accident. The factory 4x10 speaker was dried up and never had high fidelity even when it was new. I shopped around for 4x10s but needed something that was dual channel to maintain the stereo effect to work with my 10 channel digital signal processor. This speaker has a dual voice coil (DVC) main driver and two identical tweeters. This permits you maintain stereo separation and not electrically combine both channels. After manipulating some time delays and equalization the front sound stage effect is amazing. If I close my eyes, I cannot point right to the speaker that is producing the sound. If I turn my head left to right and the front sound stage stays in place. This speaker is exactly what I needed. 2/4/25 Update. I am STILL loving this speaker. The enhancement to my sound system has been quite surprising. I kind of thought it was a little pricy but after fine tuning my system with it included, it was worth every penny.

It actually works! Solves the problem of replacing OEM speaker(s)!
I was a bit taken back by the price, but since there were few options, I decided to order this for my classic Challenger. It was hard to install, as I had to modify the frame, and add a gasket to the bottom of the speaker, as mine mounted from the top. I also added a dust cover to the entire speaker, as I noted it had an open voice coil, allowing dirt to get into it. I then had to insulate the wiring on the right side, as it butted up against the top dash frame (which was metal), which would have shorted it out. Okay. It's in. It seems to have been well constructed and designed for odd situations such as this. I was surprised by how well it handled the output of my new stereo, and it actually sounded very good! Obviously, it couldn't have the separation of separate speakers, but it did a very good job with the twin tweeters. It sounded clear and bright, even at higher volumes. Very happy with purchase but would recommend having it installed by someone who knows what they are doing!

Sounds good and fits with minimum of fabrication
It’s not hi-fi but it is way better than stock. Clear and fit with minor fabrication. Used on a 67 Tempest. No other speakers are in the car.

Great Sound
Using this in my 68 Firebird convertible where there is not much room to mount speakers. Now I can actually hear my stereo and has very good sound quality for a single speaker.

Impressive for a single speaker
I've restored 2 classic cars recently and both needed a more modern radio and speaker set up. My 1-car received a single under dash speaker and 2-rear speakers. The other car received a R-57UK -5x7 speaker only. Wired correctly the R-57UK sounds better than the car with 3 speakers. Completely impressed with this speaker's performance.

Service beim Hersteller/Vertrieb schleppend.
