Scorch Marker Pro, The Original Heat Activated Wood Burning Marker, 2 Tips

It is as advertised. I had a little trouble at first with the ink running due to the wood I was using but it was operator failure, not the product.

Dual-ended liquid pen that when direct heat applied turns the purple ink to look burned into the wood. Attempted to use an oven but couldn't get it to turn color and became worried something would catch on fire so the best method personally was using a heat gun. The heat gun did also result in some burning along the edges and corners. The pen itself draws on smoothly and creates clean lines but the lines are bold and there isn't a thin line option. The opposite end is like a whiteout sponge style brush and paints on thick. Would recommend use with other products to seal in the design and ensure food safe spaces so price-wise, something to consider. Was easier than a soldering iron despite the lines being much thicker, there was more consistency with color and perceived depth of the design but unlike soldering the design is superficial and doesn't appear engraved.

Wasn't what I expected, but after a lot of practicing I figured it out. The "ink" really bleeds so you need to be careful not to use it like a regular marker, its has more of a very watery water color paint consistency. I tried to use a stencil but the "ink" would run underneath every single time. Freehand drawing seemed to work much better. You have to move quickly and make sure not to use too much. If you draw or write too slow it will bleed too much. Reviews say to let it sit for a few minutes before you add heat bit it just bleeds. I wrote out what i needed and immediately added heat. It seemed to work the best for me. The brush side was worthless.

This is the best and easiest way to burn something onto wood. Just outline color it in and burn. I used a Wagner heat gun and took about 20-30 seconds. The more you heat the darker it gets.

I watched numerous YouTube videos and followed the directions very carefully. Sanded my wood smooth ending with 220 grit, shook and primed my pen, blotted off excess etc. was very careful and used recommended wood types. The fluid bled over and over. Used different types of wood that was recommended with the same results. Tried a stencil and freehand, both bled! The color changed to deep brown but never black even using my brand new heat gun on high. The finished product looked like dark brown Sharpie marker was used and was a sloppy, running mess. Also does not even resemble true wood “burning” Advertised as chemical burn not a chemical reaction that causes a color change. I don’t see the point of using this marker with the color results achieved and there is no change to the wood underneath to make it look like a burn, no indenting in wood etc. I do tons of crafts... painting, stenciling etc and consider myself a good crafter but this pen was non usable for me. Not sure how others are achieving the results they are showing. Sending it back for a refund.
