I used this heat-resistant 1.5"-wide tape to finish off the raw edges of the Insulation Pad I installed on my 2005 Dodge Dakota. The 4'X5' roll was more than ample to replace the old, warn, and shredded OE insulation pad. The tape is highly sticky; I have no doubts, even though it's in the heat, under the hood, it'll last for the rest of MY life, and at least that of my Dakota! Very sticky, so care in application is required, but, it's fairly manageable, if it must be re-positioned! It's a great buy, and really, really does the job right!!

Works great and easy to install

Adhesive is a bit disappointing. Surfaces were prepped & environment was a controlled 68°. Minor slits cut into high tension areas will be necessary working through curves but overall it does work better than most competitors. It's priced a bit high considering the quality of adhesion & size of roll but it's one of the better options available.

I have used their products infrequently, but always with success. If I have any projects requiring thermal management, DEI is at the top of the list. This heat reflective tape seems solid (as much as it can for tape) and adheres well. It is easy to cut, though peeling the backing can be tricky. Fingernails, when short, make peeling the backing frustrating.

It does not work well as heat resistant.

Used to reconnect catalytic converter to muffler (nuts keeping bolts in place rusted or spun off, but too rusty to get back on). Certainly a redneck repair, but appears to be holding well. Used high-heat silicone spray over the tape. Gases are going out the muffler as supposed to and noise is reduced. Will update when it inevitably gives out. Update: Gave out after a couple days. Oh, well - not their fault. The way it broke was odd... I was expecting it to kind of "sluff" off like duct tape. Instead, there was a clean rip right where the muffler and converter met, which seems particularly odd because I wrapped it about five times around. Still probably a great tape for patching holes - just don't expect it to deal with physical shock.

The DEI COOL TAPE works surprisingly well. I really didn't anticipate this stuff to make much of a difference. I applied to the underside of my turbo heatshield and intercooler... deflects to heat and the surface is always cool or just warm to the touch, even after long drives in the summer. I'd recommend this stuff to anyone trying to keep heat off of under hood areas.. (intercoolers, intake pipes etc.)

Good adhesion and can take the form of irregular shapes quite well.

An der Unterseite meiner Koffer am Motorrad zum Schutz derselben verklebt, und hält. Nach dem Test ca. 220 km im Koffer deutlich kälter als vorher nach einer Fahrt und das Klebeband hält noch got und zeigt wegen der Hitze keine Veränderungen. Zum Thema ob es nötig ist Plasteteile zu schützen, in dem fall ja, habe schon einen Koffer wegen leichter Verformung nicht mehr schließen können und das mitten in der Tour, deswegen jetzt der Schutz und scheint zu funktionieren. Den ein Stern weniger für den doch recht hohen Preis für die par Centimeter Klebeband.
