Worth it.
After a month of hiking in Oregon, I'm absolutely thrilled with these. They are warm yet breathable, comfortable out of the box, look great, and the traction is awesome. They are light as regular tennis shoes. I go through small streams regularly, like halfway to ankle deep, and have not had a leak. When they get muddy I just dip my feet in a clean stream and they're clean (enough) fast! The outside of the front is absorbent like regular fabric, and I feel like when it is wetted out that it may theoretically inhibit the breathability, but I have not observed this in practice. The rest of the shoe is apparently breathable enough to the point where this "wetted out" portion doesn't affect the overall breathability. The waterproof layer is deeper so no water penetrates to socks. I haven't noticed any appreciable weight increase while wet either. So, absolutely no complaints and I highly recommend!

Solid gear
Comfortable and functionally sound.

Defective
Wrong size sent, box was beaten and shoes looked used. Iโm sure they are good shoes but the delivery experience was atrocious

Environmentally friendly
Excellent quality. Environmentally healthy? Great price. I would wear no other shoe walk five miles a day, and they are still comfortable and holding together

Didn't know what to expect...
Buying online is always an unknown. I didn't know what to expect when ordering these since my only cross reference for hiking boots were my Australian Blundstones. These fit as expected (half size bigger). They are comfortable, really lightweight, and very grippy in dry earth, gravel, grass, mountain rock. While I haven't tried them in wet snow, they seemed pretty good on hard-packed snow and ice, perhaps better than the Blundstones that are tough on all surfaces and in the cold. I recommend these for the casual hiker.

Lacking quality for the price you pay
As soon as I wore these shoes, they felt cheap. First off, the insole seems to be something you would find in a $30 dollar shoe. Very thin with no support. It feels like you have about a 1/4 inch between your foot and the ground. The shoelaces are the thinnest I have ever seen and don't exactly inspire confidence in their long-term durability. The loops the shoelaces are run through are made of the same stuff. The only part of the shoe that seems decent is the sole. Seems to have good traction. If I had paid $35 dollars for them, I would be fine with it. You replace the insoles, and you'll probably get a year's worth of good use. But for what they actually cost, I am very disappointed. I would give a lower rating, but maybe they'll last longer than I think. I doubt it

Tough, lightweight, lots of grip
This is the only pair of hiking shoes I have ever owned so I'm no expert but I really like them. I bought them to climb Misti and they got the job done. My feet stayed warm and dry and I felt very confident and surefooted with the grip they provided

Very poor quality
Used it in the city for 2 weeks to break them in before my big important hiking trip, and on the first day i get to the mountain, the bands which holds the laces come unglued and i could no longer tie my shoes. I had to poke holes pn the shoe to run the laces through so i could finish my hike. Unable to return as they were just outside the 30 days and the seller refused to take them back

Bought these for lightweight Munro travel. I generally walk where I have to and run when I can. Have used Salomon xa pro 3d which have the hardened toe. This is good for running I find and gives some protection from stones but the biggest weakness was the insoles getting wet and bunching. Mega pain when miles from the car. Think this is an issue with some Salomon shoes. Heard a lot of praise for inov8 so bought these to try. I bought a half size up and the fit is good. They are very light and comfortable. Wore them for a long day out in the hills and noted the lack of toe protection which caught me out a couple of times when running and tired. The grip was outstanding and gave me confidence on exposed ridges and scrambling. The soles may be hardened but canโt help but think the outer edges will go long before any sole wear with mtn use. Only time will tell. UPDATE - had these for 4 years now mainly hill running between them and other trail shoes and they are still doing me proud. About 650 km logged with them according to my garmin. Edges havenโt worn thin or torn and the sole has plenty of grip left. Never had sole bunching when saturated so would Def recommend inov8.

Really impressed by these boots. Very lightweight but I've done some long days and big hills in them and they are great. Grip well, waterproof and comfortable. And they look nice too!

I love INOV8 shoes. These hiking boots are well built and generally comfortable. HOWEVER, INOV8 shoes and boots generally fit small. In any other sports shoe, I usually take a 27.5 cm, which is a 9.5 US. However, because INOV8 fit small, I ordered these in size 28 cm, which is US 10. Unfortunately, the toe-box of these hiking boots is rather narrow, so I found that I should have ordered a full cm bigger, ie 28.5 cm. If you do any serious hiking and don't order a full cm bigger, you will likely find that your toes get smashed up when going on extended downhill stretches, because of the narrow, tight toe box. My toes took a real beating. Order a full cm larger.
