I dive in saltwater.** A: The zipper seems to be resistant to rusting. The zipper pulls as well as the shoulder strap carabiner clips are some kind of pot-metal or steel alloy that is holding up well against rusting. I only do saltwater diving. I've taken my Fitdom mesh gear bag aboard dive boats at least 20 times in the last two years. It's often stashed under the gear-up seating area where lots of water gathers and swirls around, getting everything wet with saltwater. So far no rust on any metal parts. Some of the paint that covers the pot metal on the zipper pulls is starting to chip off, but it's nothing major and unnoticeable unless you really look for it. IMO the bag is really great. I'd buy another if I ever needed a replacement. **Q: does this mesh bag fold into itself (collapsible) for easy storage and travel?** A: Yes it does. There is nothing bulky other than straps and the plastic “waterproof” pouch at the end. Heavier than my previous mesh bag which did fold up slightly smaller. **Q: How corrosion resistant is the zipper?** A: It is plastic. **Q: Does the have metal or plastic zippers? Saltwater will destroy the metal ones.** A: The zipper and zipper pulls are some kind of metal alloy.
