Well built, excellent flying machine, limited battery life
As the description states, the battery life or flight time of the craft is about 5-6 maybe 7 minutes. But, within those 6 minutes or so it’s a blast to fly. Learning to hover is vital, once mastered flight is easier but still challenges do exist to flight due to variables such and ground effect and in home terrain which present themselves and their unique nature and effects on flight characteristics the user needs to factor in. The thing is pretty small, so something as simple as an area rugs 1/2” rise will cause a slight change to ground effect, subtle but exaggerated to a degree which can cause a catastrophic failure event to the small craft of not accounted for. It’s build is extremely clean, and well put together. A good analogy would be to compare it to a miniature outhouse: the longevity of the unit depends on how the user treats the outhouse. One slam of a door and it could fall to pieces, but that slam would only occur if it came from a user 16 times it’s size. The controls are very finely tuned. A small adjustment is all one needs for a movement. There is no delay or lag in the control input to output at a close distance in an indoor setting. I left the AC blowing to present a challenge. It was challenging to say the least. Even the slightest breeze from the AC presents a challenge. I would equate the small breeze from the AC to a 20 gusting 30 wind condition for a like model rotary wing aircraft of normal proportion and size. My AC might be blowing .6 knots tops. With 10 ft ceilings, given the lightweight nature of the craft I can only assume the wind variable would be exponential to the actual output at the low altitude of 10 inches. The only downside I can note is the lack of a compensation of power output to energy remaining in the battery. When the battery gets low, the resulting input to the controller requires a higher power setting. Example: when the battery is at a full charge the power setting required for hover at 2-3 inches is relatively low. Around the 5.5-5.8 minute mark the power setting required for the same altitude is proportionally larger. This leads me to believe that the weight savings of the computer board was a priority over the compensation of power requirements relative to battery life or charge. This is not a deal breaker but should be something of note. Conversely, the power setting input required when the battery is at full charge is very low and quite sensitive. This is essentially on a liner scale: power setting input at outset low/power setting input at 5.6 minutes much lesser that at outset. It was a gradual learning curve, but one note to point out and something that may prove useful for those with younger fliers. A decent rating of this craft deserves a 4.2 out of 5. The cost over value of this unit is a 5 out of 5. The lights are cool, but I ponder on their power consumption. It seems it would be nominal, due to them being LED. This draw from battery is likely not a factor due to their size however they serve no other function that to make it look realistic, which they do indeed so for that alone I wouldn’t knock any points off. The lights to me actually would add “style points”. Overall: Very fun flyer and really well built, would purchase again and highly recommend. Instructions are straightforward with a few grammatical errors common to this type of toy but understandable and decipherable by the majority of those educated in the English language, in my opinion. The trim control on the controller is well suited for trimming prior to flight for left to right adjustment. Cons: battery life is limited but expectable from such a small craft. Power setting Inputs are sensitive with a full charge, and requires constant user input to increase as the battery reaches its end state of charge, which as stated before is typically in the last 10-15% of the battery life.

Another s107g purchase, another beauty received!
These are my go-to chopper when it comes to flying around the office or house. I must have owned 10 of these over the years plus a few which were fakes but still performed pretty well anyway. Key Points About the s107g helicopters Pros: 1. They hover well but once you get comfortable hovering, you can add some weight to the nose which makes them faster. With a bit of practice, you can land this thing on a dime. The eagle pro helipad is a good size to practice your landings. They can take a fair old beating. Cons: 1. Battery only lasts about 5 mins and you cant use spare batteries since they are hardwired into the helicopter. 2. Infrared controller, so indoor only flying 3. Any wind or breeze from air-con will cause mayhem, they really cant handle that 4. If you crash into the tv, the blades can leave a scratch.......dont tell my wife but it was me who put those marks on our TV. This wont be the last s107g I buy, they are great value.

Excellent toy
To prevent a 9-yr old and 5-yr old from spending too much time on an iPad, I bought this helicopter. It takes skill to operate and so teaches coordination. It’s also fun. So to improve their minds, I bought it. I had earlier purchased a similar one but lost the controller and charge cord, so I was pleasantly surprised to discover my new copter controls worked with my old copter. The controller has 2 channels and allows each of my copters to operate independently, so you switch to the second one when the 10-15 minute flying time expires. The instructions recommend you learn to fly it in a large room, not a standard 8 foot ceiling room. I don’t recommend trying to fly it in the house until you master the easy controls to prevent crashes. Sometimes you think it has a mind of its own. “How did I do that???” The controls are simple enough to operate and the contoller takes 6 AA batteries. Charge time for the helicopter is about 25 minutes. The helicopter seems to survive crashes well and the package comes with extra parts. So I recommend flying the unit outside until you master the controls and then fly inside safely. The controller has an “adjust” button to correct the unit from skewing ( like doglegging) sideways in flight. For the price it is good value. The only problem I found was the fight that broke out when the kids wanted to take it from me. If you opt to buy 2 units, choose two different colors so you can select the appropriate channel for each one.

A Fair Toy, But Not For Beginners
The Cheerwing S107/S107G Phantom 3.5 Channel Mini RC Helicopter had aroused my curiosity, I was sincerely enthusiastic to obtain this gadget. As a passionate drone devotee, I was keen on extending my aptitude to helicopters. Despite this, my experience with this particular model was a blend of positives and negatives, inciting me to rate it 3 out of 5 stars. Looking at the bright side, the controls on the S107 were rather intuitive. Although their user-friendliness was a promising start, regrettably, obstacles emerged soon after takeoff. The helicopter faces a noteworthy problem regarding its stability and control. In spite of my proficiency in operating drones, I encountered challenges in upholding a steady and stable flight with the S107. It exhibited a persistent struggle with keeping balance and stability in flight. Within the scope of RC toys, where regulation is vital, this represents a considerable deficiency. In my opinion, the S107 is not the most suitable starting point for young individuals seeking to take their first steps in the world of flight, based on my personal experience. The challenge of managing the toy might swiftly result in frustration. I am concerned that the problems with control could hamper the entertainment and pleasure that this helicopter could otherwise bring. In all fairness, the S107 boasts its merits as a miniature RC helicopter model. The product's success among both kids and adults could have been guaranteed if its stability and control were more sophisticated. It holds the promise of being an outstanding hobby. Nonetheless, its challenge with attaining a stable altitude and staying level takes away from what could have been a delightful flight experience. Ultimately, though the Cheerwing S107/S107G Phantom may entice hobbyists craving difficulty, I would dissuade it as the initial foray for young beginners into aviation. It does provide some enjoyable moments, particularly when you grasp it, but it undeniably demands patience and a certain degree of expertise to genuinely relish.

Not for beginners: Cheerwing S107/S107G Phantom 3CH 3.5 Channel Mini RC Helicopter with Gyro
Well, I read all the reviews and of others too. This one only went sideways, to the right and when tried to elevate took off straight forward. Judging by the other reviews I finally had to give up and figure it was a defective unit. No unit could be "that" sensitive and not have some serious trim features. Also, since some commented it essentially just went up/down and that's it or only backward, again, defective or over compensated for trim by the OEM as a guess. I does not have a "auto - up" and "hover" feature, or down. The best I could do, and not new to this, was - get it to just skim the carpet, stop it in a few feet - turn it around (via the controls) and come back so, it's not "me". Again, actually unpredictable though, otherwise went sideways to the right and would occassionally *quickly accelerate. I think the OEM should warn users that once the receiver gets the signal, it may not "start" right away! Mine didn't and thought maybe the channel was bad or needed to be switched from A to B (has two on the TX). - Well, it ALL OF A SUDDEN STARTED AND FULL ON!! - and come up right at my face! Also, the sudden accelleration and slow reachtion, one time when got it to go somewhat vertical, would not shut down fast enough, no response, so throttle back to zero and then tried to speed up again for a softer landing - it could not do it. It didn't hit hard, more of a very firm landing but - who wants to "do" that like, all the time!? So, again, after about an hour, ninety minutes I gave up. I even took it out side (worked fine outside - though warned it may not since IR controlled)... and, again, it went, had room to rise sideways and turned on it's own and headed over the fence to the neighbors yard at about maybe 8 ft height. I could not ease or coax it to then hover within a reasonable even 3 ft area. I didn't want to risk a "bolting" to the neighbors windows. So, a great idea, poorly executed and seems build well enough. I'm not crazy about the "floppy" rotors and compensation weights; but if functioned as was supposed to - even that would be tolerable. I hope that helps someone. Again, this one may well be defective. Not seeing any Trim controls to sensitize the controls is not a confidensicence builder. And again too, if it's malfunctioning - would not "fix" that issue since not "me". It just changes direction on it's own and etc. Oh, and it seemed to "come on" by itself too. Again, keep it away from ones own face until started.

Great Simple Birthday Gift for Someone New to RC Helicopters
I bought this Syma S107 as a birthday gift for someone else, so I gave it a quick test before wrapping it up. I normally fly much larger RC helicopters, so I knew exactly what to expect from this type of model. It’s a basic 3-channel coaxial helicopter with a flybar and a small tail motor/propeller for forward and backward movement. In other words, it’s designed to be very stable, very simple, and easy to fly indoors. That’s exactly why I chose it as a gift. There’s essentially no setup or learning curve compared with a hobby-grade collective-pitch helicopter. Charge it, turn it on, and you can start flying around the house. The coaxial rotor system and flybar naturally keep it stable, and the controls are straightforward enough for somebody with little or no RC helicopter experience. Obviously, this is not something you buy for aerobatics or serious performance. It’s a simple indoor helicopter, and it should be judged for what it is. For casual flying, a beginner, or someone who just wants something fun without having to learn a complicated aircraft, it does the job well. I included a few photos next to some of my own helicopters to show the size difference. It’s especially funny seeing how small the S107 is next to a 200-class and 500-class helicopter. For the price and intended purpose, I think it makes a very good birthday gift and an easy introduction to RC helicopters. Pros: simple, stable, easy to fly, small enough for indoor use, inexpensive, and good for beginners. Cons: only basic 3-channel control and very limited performance, but that’s inherent to this type of helicopter rather than a flaw. Overall: exactly what a small coaxial indoor helicopter should be—simple, stable, and easy to fly.
