Way better than hive
I recently bought hive thermostat and it caused me so much headache. It kept disconnecting. So i bought the Netatmo to replace it. I did this install myself and it was a little bit confusing with the wires. My hive thermostat didn't have a gray wire (it was cut off) so i thought this won't need it either, but the relay wasn't turning heating on when i put the black one only. I put the gray in the red slot and it finally worked. (Pic) I hope this helps someone else with an Ideal Logic combi boiler like mine. Massive feature for me is the hysteresis settings in the app. I didn't know until now that's what that's called. You can adjust the threshold how many degree points it turns the heating on. Hive was automatically only 0.1 and it kept making my heating turn on for like 2 mins at 10 min intervals. I hated that. So big plus to Netatmo app for that. Install was pretty straight forward, now i wonder why did i ever get an engineer for the hive one. The one hiccup was the wire as it wasn't marked on the boiler. But the rest was easy peasy. They have some old videos on youtube but your boiler might be different so it won't match 100% You don't need to use the app. You can connect the thermostat to the relay directly. The connection seems to be thermostat to relay through radio frequency. Then relay to router through wifi (if desired) But if you do get the app, connection to wifi was straight forward as well through the app. It uses 2.4ghz wifi but it was able to connect to my combined router wifi. It hasn't had any issues with connection so far. In the app you have schedules and you can set different temperatures for different settings. E.g. comfort, comfort+, night. You can change each one to your preferred temps. You can also choose to have just one temp all day round. I am always home so i need same temperatures all day. But it is nice to be able to easily put it to automatically lower a bit at night. I attached some pics of the app schedules. (Don't judge my high temps, I have lizard blood) There's a boost option in the app which is nice, you can choose temp and time but it was a little bit unintuitive. There's other smart self learning settings and apparently some PID heating algorithm that will be allowed to be enabled later on after it learns your system. But i don't need any of that. I didn't want it to try to be smart, i just wanted more control. Schedules, boost, hysteresis settings. All i needed. For the thermostat itself, it wasn't intuitive that you just press the sides to increase/decrease temps. And the small numbers are hard to read at a glance. This is due to the minimalistic style. I have pretty good eye sight but i struggle to see if its 21.5 or 21.8. I regret not buying this during black friday sales. It would have saved me a lot of money. I read the general lifetime for this is 2 years. I will see if it's true in 2 years time. If it is only 2 years I'm still happy with it.

Smart, Efficient and Easy Heating Control
The Netatmo Smart Thermostat + 3 Connected Radiator Valves pack is a brilliant smart heating solution for anyone looking to improve energy efficiency and comfort at home. Installation was straightforward, and the step-by-step app guidance made setup surprisingly easy—even for a first-timer. Once connected, the app gives full control over individual rooms, allowing you to set different temperatures and schedules for each radiator. This is a game changer for saving energy—no more heating unused rooms! The interface is user-friendly, and remote access via smartphone is incredibly convenient. The design is sleek and modern, blending in well with home interiors. The smart features, like auto-adapt and open window detection, work reliably, and voice control via Alexa or Google Assistant is a nice bonus. One small drawback is that the valves can be a bit noisy when adjusting, especially at night—but it’s a minor issue compared to the overall benefits. Overall, this is a top-quality smart heating system that brings comfort, control, and energy savings. A worthwhile investment for any modern home.

Can be a pain to install, but worth it!
So I've been using these for a few months now, had a Netatmo thermostat for almost a decade and when these come on offer thought I'd try them. Honestly i thought these were a waste of money, but now I've fitted them and been using them for while I think they are amazing. Initially had a bit of trouble with them connecting but once the firmware on them updated issues disappeared. My main gripe is the plastic fittings, plastic on plastic seems to stick I had 2 remove a couple of valves as my actual radiator valves were seized, a bit of oil and gentle persuasion got them free and the valves work a treat. Having each room be independently controlled is brilliant no more cooking in one room with a cold part of the house. We have a boiler which I think is on the limit of our house and rooms tuning off as they reach temperature actually allows the house to warm up a lot more evenly now. Initially I thought the temperatures were not accurate and adjusted them using offsets in the app which you can set per valve, however after a few days I realised I was wrong and thermometers in the rooms didb match the thermostats, changed them all back to default and everything starred matching up. My only concern is battery life, each valve had a set of spares in, instructions say not to use rechargables, as I used grease on the valves to help the movement I'm hoping freeing them up will help with battery life, so far haven't changed them yet but only had them I think around 4 months. Easily recommend, just wish they used metal rings for attachment! *edit* Just to update, I've had one valve fail but Netatmo support are pretty good to respond, But be careful removing and replacing them several times can cause the plastic to snap, sadly that has happened to one of my valves when checking the radiator valve. I will defiantly keep using them though as they are very simple to use. When changing the batteries it's a good idea to clean the contacts otherwise the valve keeps saying the battery is low after a few days, using silicone grease on the underside helps with calibration errors for me, I've only had an issue with one valve though once. It seems like the batteries last longer than you expect but cleaning the terminals is a must as they seem to oxidise, or at least that's what has happened with our troubled one.

Batteries nightmare
Loved it in the beginning. Easy to install, and good value for money. Was reliable and efficient. But after owning it for 6 months, the batteries started to last less and less. Now the batteries for the thermostat hardly last a week when the product claim was for about 1 year. Can't change 3 AAA batteries every week or wake up to a cold home because batteries have run out in the night. Would not buy again.

Effective smart radiator valves
Very effective smart radiator valve, operated from a well designed app. Easy to install with clear instructions. These valves definitely pay for themselves with the savings on gas used

Thermostat tut was es soll. Integration in Netatmo-App etwas fummelig (fw-Updates, usw..). Danach via HomeKit in Homeassistant integriert.
