This stuff is so good. We bought it for a recipe, but now we use it in so many. It's great on sweet potatoes, baked apples, and many other traditional SE Asian recipes.

This version is rather perfect. It is spicy but not overly intrusive. The cinnamon flavors and other sweet spices are blended exactly as they should be and do not dominate. Use sparingly as this can be a strong spice. I have used this in the typical Ethiopian stews, it also works brilliantly for meatballs then finished off in a delicious tomato vegetable sauce. Then served over rice. It's a rather magical blend of spices and will transport any protein to another level. This spice also works perfectly in any rice dish and is excellent for vegetarian recipes wear something exotic and somewhat edgy is needed.

Choosing the right five star spice is not an easy task and there's so many different variations in the ingredients. This one does list a nice blend of ingredients, although I'd like to see a little less cinnamon in it. My bottle arrived with a excellent use by day and was exceptionally fresh and tremendously flavorful. I use a fairly generous amount each time I cook with it, and even though I've used it quite a few times it doesn't even look like the level is gone down LOL so this will be around for a while. Good value, good price, good product. Probably one of the best ones out there in the General marketplace.

Great item for Chinese dishes and sauces. It's a great price because you only need the SMALLEST pinch. Use a tiny amount first to gauge how strong it makes the taste.

They smelled really good, but I didn’t find it super flavorful. It also didn’t have a very strong taste. Was a little bit caked in texture, so I’m not sure if I just received an old bottle. I will not order this again from frontier co-op anyway.

Best buy of five spice and a good change of recipe in my cooking. If you use the spice in Chinese recipe it will come as the recipe say and it’s really delicious but honestly taste different because i am use with arabic spice and normal mix spice so this is really new type of mix for me and it was good in my chicken breast recipe that i make for my diet.
