Review: Highly Recommended! - I received my Navage two months ago. Being one with lifetime sinus issues, I had great anticipation that it would at least lessen, if not eliminate my seasonal pollen and dust related congestion and runniness. I'm sure that I was not alone with my initial feelings of hesitance, uneasiness, and trepidation as I stirred up the courage to use it the first time, and my fears were not unfounded as salt water ran down the back of my throat, bringing about a sense of drowning. However, I persisted and experimented with different positions of my tongue, closing my throat, none of which worked. Then I watched the woman in the YouTube instructional video, who was speaking as she demonstrated it; she was breathing through her mouth! My next attempt was 100% successful. I simply breathed through my mouth. Every time I breathed naturally through my mouth, everything went perfectly. Every time I closed my throat, the water was immediately misdirected. However, I knew that air and water was escaping between the nose pillows and my nostrils, which indicated to me that the standard equipped nose pillows were not creating the necessary tight seal. I ordered the extra large pillows, which, along with holding the nosepieces more relaxed and less tightly, immediately corrected the problem entirely. It now takes me less than 15 seconds for each complete irrigation, which is one cup of slightly warmed, distilled water and one salt pod. I have found the Navage to be incredibly soothing and refreshing, and it has successfully cured all my sinus irritation! It's a wonderful appliance and one that I look forward to using every morning, and occasionally before bedtime.
Review: From a Science Standpoint - The concept of this product is absolutely perfect! If you are swimmer then you'll understand the concept of how this works better. From a science standpoint, the material is made very well, there is nothing cheap about it. The instructions are easy to read, but the instructions are long, so please take the time to read it throughly. I believe that disclaimers should be implemented, such as if your nose bleeds a lot maybe this product is not for you. I don't suggest if your nose is bleeding while doing this, you should not use this. Secondly, this might be a bit controversial but if you use any schedule two drugs or a regular basis, this may not be for you as well due to deteriorating nasal cavity over time. But if you do have the common cold/flu/alligeries or sinus this will be the best thing ever. I tried to find the actual specifications on the actual manufaturing and salt packs, but I couldn't find it on a public knowledge basis. This part may be internal (if you're in Science BioPharma like I am you'll understand) For actual use, I feel like a swimmer because the concept is really good. Ideally, you have to make sure to keep your mouth open and do not hold your breath! If you do, the pump valve will not move (going up & down) If water is going down your throat and out your mouth...you're doing it wrong. If water is making you gag or choke...you're doing it wrong. You have to relax and allow the saline to going in one nostril and out the other. The nozzle is rotating, this way you have the option to switch which way you would like the saline to go in or out. This part is optional but it's better if you use alkaline distilled water and warm it for thirty seconds. Warmth is better and more comfortable for the nose this way the saline can work better and mucus comes out faster. If you see the solution leave your nostril on side and go into the bottom tank you are doing it correctly! Apologize for the long review, hope this helps. Cheers to breathing better!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Do you need a new salt pod each time you use it, I am trying to tigger the dayle cost, looks like to me about .38 cents a us, is that right**
A: This response is from RhinoSystems, the manufacturer of Naväge Nasal Care.

Great question! Yes, a genuine, new SaltPod is needed for each irrigation cycle. Naväge is designed for safety, effectiveness, purity, convenience, and affordability:

Safety and Effectiveness: Having a correctly formulated nose rinse is the key to a great irrigation experience. Sensitive tissue lines the inside of the nose and exposing it to water that doesn’t have just the right amount of salt can cause painful burning and even injury. That’s the beauty of the Naväge SaltPod! Because it is precisely formulated, there’s no burning and stinging, just the refreshing experience that comes with moisturizing and flushing the nasal passages.

Purity: Naväge SaltPod capsules contain two ingredients: salt and water. There are no drugs. The salt is pharmaceutical grade, containing 99.99% sodium chloride with zero additives and fillers. (For comparison, table salt is about 98% sodium chloride and 2% additives, including iodine, sodium aluminosilicate, magnesium carbonate and other impurities.) The water is purified with carbon filtration, double deionization, ultra-violet (UV) sterilization, and a sub-micron finishing filter. The result is super-pure H2O.

Convenience: The SaltPod capsule contains saline concentrate – not salt crystals – and it mixes instantly. So there’s no more measuring; no more salt spills; no more mess. Just pop in a SaltPod and Naväge does the rest!

Affordability: SaltPod capsules cost less than 33 cents each when purchased with a quantity discount. One-a-day use amounts to less than $10 per month for an easy to use, drug-free approach to improved nose-breathing and superior nasal health.

**Q: Can you switch which side the water goes in and which side it gets sucked out? I'd like the ability to do it both ways.**
A: This response is from RhinoSystems, the manufacturer of Naväge Nasal Care.

Great question! The way nasal irrigation works is that the entire nasal cavity is cleansed, flushed, and moisturized during a single irrigation cycle.  One side of the nasal cavity is cleaned as the rinse flows into it; the other side as the rinse flows out of it.

The beauty of Naväge is that it's so easy to change the direction of flow, either from left-to-right, or from right-to-left.  The nasal dock rotates freely in both directions as shown in the picture below.  When you rotate the nasal dock 180 degrees, the saline will flow in the opposite direction. This can make a significant difference with respect to the ease of flow and speed of an irrigation cycle.  The direction that works easiest and fastest for you will depend on your own personal nasal anatomy.

There are arrows on the nasal dock posts that indicate the direction of saline flow, one pointing “IN” and the other pointing “OUT."

We recommend that for best results you change the direction of flow on a regular basis.  Even though most users find that Naväge flows faster in one direction than the other, the best practice is to reverse direction every week or so.

We sincerely appreciate your business and want you to have the best possible Naväge experience, so please let me know how I can be of further assistance. You can contact us directly by calling (800) 203-6400 from 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., M-F, Eastern Time.

**Q: I can't find how this actually works. Does water go in one nostril and out the other? I'm just curious how the water gets in and out.**
A: Here's how it works: Saline enters the nose through one nostril, flows to the back of one side of the nasal cavity, makes a U-turn at the posterior margin of the nasal septum (that's the gap between the rear edge of the nasal septum and the rear wall of the nasal cavity), flows back through the other side of the nasal cavity to the front of the nose, and then out the other nostril. In short: in one nostril, around the back of the nose, and out the other nostril. And for most people, that all takes place in 15 to 30 seconds!

**Q: How would I clean and sanitize this unit after each use?
Thank you.**
A: Hi Kitka. This reply is from RhinoSystems. We're the manufacturer of Naväge. The following cleaning instructions can also be found in the Owner's Manual and on our navage.com website.Naväge® Nose Cleaner cleaning instructions - Do's and Don'tsAfter each use, DO:*	Do clean the upper and lower tanks, nose pillows, and nasal dock. Simply detach them from the white center module, and wash them using anti-bacterial dishwashing soap or a solution of one-half white vinegar and one-half water.*	Do clean the center module by wiping it with a cloth damp with anti-bacterial soap or vinegar and water; it is not waterproof.*	Do rinse the crushing chamber lid under hot water. This will melt away any dried salt crystals.*	Do rinse the drain pull by lifting it up and running it under hot water to allow the water to run through it. DON'TS:* Don't place the Naväge Nose Cleaner in a dishwasher. It is not dishwasher safe. Exposing the tanks to dishwasher heat may warp and prevent them from sealing to the center module. Running the Nose Cleaner through a dishwasher voids the warranty and will likely damage the device. *	Don't rinse the underside of the white center module with running water, as this may damage the pump. Instead, wipe it with a damp cloth. If you would like to discuss this further, please call us at (800) 248-7550 from 9 to 5, M-F eastern time, or send an email to support@navage.com. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well, there is a learning curve
*by M***D on March 11, 2026*

I have been using Navage for about six months and it works well to clear my sinuses of allergens. Especially good for warding off sinus infections; the moment I feel that first tickle/spike, I use the Navage for a day or two and sinus infections just don't materialize. There is a learning curve to using it, but it is so much more effective than the manual "gravity" bottle I used to use, because the gentle pressure plus suction is what is really needed to move mucus out. One thing to note: this is a proprietary system that requires you use its own saline pods; the pod must be in place for it to operate. As a former healthcare professional, I appreciate the quality control measure of proprietary supply, so I'm happy to use the pods, even though they cost more than single use dry nasal salt packets.
