Great buy!
Great sewing machine. Great durability and extremely portable! It has extra bobbins and bobbin winding is easy. It fits perfectly.

For the price this is a good machine that has been sewing well for me, thus far.
For a lower priced machine, this appears to be a great sewing machine. I purchased the Singer Heavy Duty 4452, which came in a holiday bundle that included the extension table and 2 extra presser feet. My two other machines have had some pretty bad tension problems. So, in spite of my brother (a professional opera costume maker and men's suit tailor) warning me to not get a lower end Singer and to repair my expensive Rickar, I purchased this one anyway. So far, I have sewn repairs on a heavy broadcloth pickleball net bag, sewn some knit fabric chair covers, taken in a couple knit tops, repaired a woven cotton/poly blend bag, and have done various other little repair projects - all with this new Singer. It has done well. Of course, I make sure to use the same thread (or at least same weight and type of thread) in both the upper and lower, made sure they are sewing in equal tensions before commencing my projects, am using newer threads as old thread 'decays', and I feed the fabric through evenly and smoothly (no bunching, or improper pinning or matching of sides or trying to twist it funny as it goes). Things I like about this machine: top loading bobbin, ease of winding bobbins, good solid needle sewing, when I lift my foot off the pressure foot the needle stays essentially where I ended it (great for sinking the needle, to turn corners, or hold the fabric in place for any manipulations), and I've gotten used to the upper knob for doing a reverse stitch (it depresses downward, so the machines stays in place - I've used a crazy machine before where the knob was to be pressed inward so I was always pushing the machine back or tipping it over), and once the knobs are all set, the sewing has been easy and straight forward. Things I don't like about this machine: there are many knobs and dials on it, without clear explanations, so I often have to refer to the manual I printed out to know which knobs and dials to turn to where to get it to sew straight, zig zag, for making button holes, etc., and there is wasted space in the sew up (it would have been very easy to have designed in storage compartments in the basic desk around the presser foot and in the extension table-but there is nothing). All in all, for the price, I give this machine nine out of 10 stars.

Powerful and fast and smooth!
Boy I love this! Heavy duty and fast! Cover over the front dosent open so it’s hard to fix it if the thread comes off the moving part. Have to pull the thread out of the needle and retread. Annoying. Easy to make bobbins. Fits all styles of threads. Runs so smooth. Stitch options sufficient for me. A little difficult putting the bobbin cover on. You have to hold up the presser foot.

Sturdy!
Love this machine. It’s sturdy. Handles heavy fabrics, runs like a train. The only thing is the plate and wheel will need to be replaced after about 4 years. This is my third one of these machines. I have given them to people who need them and they’re awesome.

Impressive SINGER Heavy Duty 4452 Sewing Machine Review
I gotta tell ya, this SINGER Heavy Duty 4452 sewing machine is an absolute game-changer! The motor on this bad boy is so powerful, I swear it could pierce through anything. With a whopping 110 stitch applications, this machine has got me covered for any project under the sun. And let me just say, the full metal frame gives it that extra durability I've been looking for. One of my favorite features has to be the 1-step buttonhole - it's like magic, making my life so much easier. Plus, the LED lights are a total game-changer, especially when I'm burning the midnight oil on a project. If you're on the hunt for a sewing machine that's reliable, sturdy, and just downright impressive, I highly recommend the SINGER Heavy Duty 4452. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

This machine is a piece of JUNK
I have been sewing my entire life. Never have I used such a poorly designed machine. Whoever designed this thing must not have known how to sew. A few of the bad features: 1. The walking foot doesn't have a place to attach a quilting guide. Since the walking foot is primarily where this type of guide is used, I don't know what they were thinking. I've had to use a walking foot from another brand of sewing machine in order to use a guide. I also used the guide from the other machine, since the one Singer provides is awkward and stupid. And it should be TWO guides; which one you use depends on what direction you are quilting in. 2. You have to unscrew the needle plate to get underneath it and clean out lint. And even then, it's practically impossible to get at all of it. In other machines, I can just pop off that plate and clean as often as I need to. And it's a lot easier to clean once the plate is removed. 3. It's EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to put on and take off the presser foot "ankle" or the walking foot. The machine won't let me get my hand in there to direct the screw to where it needs to go. I have very small hands, but even my small hands can't fit in there to work the screw. I have been sitting here cussing out this machine for this for the last hour, and I STILL haven't been able to get the walking foot back on (after the hassle of unscrewing the needle plate to clean). If I could just barely get the screw in its spot and get it started, then I could get in there with my screwdriver and finish the job. But the walking foot slides up and down the shaft and won't stay still long enough to get the screw into the hole - even if I COULD fit my little hand in there to do it. 4. This is not a true heavy duty machine. The presser foot cannot be raised more than the standard amount, so I can't fit several layers of fabric under it. I make purses and bags, and deal with LOTS of layers. This machine did not give me ANY advantage in dealing with all those layers. 5. It can sew very fast, but it's very noisy. And the stitching motion is jerky, not smooth. This machine is not fun to use at all. 6. If you want it for zig-zag stitches, forget about it and find another machine. I tried using a very simple zig-zag stitch on some cotton/lycra knit fabric, and it just made a tangled mess. The only stitch this machine can handle is a straight stitch. 7. It doesn't have the "needle down" feature. If I want to pivot - as I need to at the end of every row of straight quilting - I have to manually make sure the needle is down and then pivot. Total waste of time and motion. I wish I'd never bought this machine. Thank goodness I didn't pay much more than a couple of hundred bucks for it; that's still wasted money. As soon as I am able I will buy a much nicer machine that is TRULY HEAVY DUTY to replace it. I know I am comparing a low-cost Singer with other more expensive machines, but many of these poor design features would be very simple and low cost to fix. It's infuriating.

Great little sewing machine.
Arrived on time and undamaged. Easy to operate and would be excellent for a beginner. I love a top loading bobbin. Absolutely would recommend this sewing machine to anyone.

Excellent machine!
I’ve had my machine for a while now and I’ve made quite a few projects with it. I am absolutely thrilled with how well it works. There are more than enough stitch functions for most sewists. This machine is mechanical instead of digital which means I can clean and maintain it on my own and not have to worry with electronics and circuits breaking down. Don’t be intimidated by the word “mechanical” if you’re new to sewing. Everything is as easy as turning a dial. Like most machines it works best if you remove the throat plate and clean and oil it after every project. It’s insanely simple and takes me about 5 minutes to do. You can find tutorials online, and other than the oil (which is cheap and lasts forever) this machine comes with all of the tools you need although I recommend buying a tiny screwdriver set if you sew a lot. I’ve even set the timing on this thing after a mishap with an aftermarket ruffled foot and was amazed at how simple it was to do. I also like that if you learn to listen to this machine it’s going to tell you waaay ahead of time if there’s a problem so you can take care of it before it jams. The only problem I’ve had with this machine is that if I use the upright spool pin the thread sometimes jumps and wraps around the pin and jams. I finally quit using that pin and either use a freestanding one I bought cheap or the horizontal pin that comes with the machine. I’ve been able to sew corsets with multiple layers of fabric and cording with no issues at all. It took me a few tries to get the buttonhole feature right (really make sure you have the lever all the way down, again, watch a few videos online) but buttonholes are now easy as pie. If you’re a more advanced sewer who loves all of the bells and whistles like push button thread cutters and super fancy features, this probably won’t be your fave unless you’re looking for a workhorse for more sturdy fabrics. But I assume that anyone that advanced is probably looking at machines that are 5 times more expensive and will require a pro to service once a year.
