Q: whats the differance between v3 & v4 Hue lightstrips ?

V4 is not compatible with V3, the connection between each strip is much thinner. The lumen output is better in v4 however it’s marginal. I run v3 strips and couldn’t find any so I got a v4 and couldn’t connect it.

Q: Do you notice a gap in light between each extension because of the small white extender piece?

No, you don't see any gap in between extensions.

Q: Hi, is the total output 1600lm irrespective of length i.e. upto 10m or is it 1600lm+950lm for every 1m extension added? The spec wording is unclear.

I’m not sure, Iv been told by there Twitter team that it’s best not to extend more than 10m as after 10m they could dimmer or not function properly.
