I have compared the bite ratio to regular monofilament and vanish definitely produces more fish. I use the 20lb primarily for grouper, snapper, grunt, sheepshead, snook, etc.... you will get broke off with lighter line sometimes but you get way more opportunities to get that big keeper than with heavier line.
