Not too difficult to install provided you have the two special tools to remove the mechanical fan clutch on automatic transmission E46 models. Keep in mind the fan clutch net is reverse-threaded so Right to loosen and Left to tighten. The special tools are for holding the clutch in place and to remove the nut and fan. No sealant was necessary as the part comes with the black rubber gasket installed. Took me about 1hr & 45 minutes from start to finish. Very good quality, fit like the original, works well, a very good value. I could not tell the new one from the old one except for the old one being coated in grease and dirt. Hopefully this will solve random boil-over problems on a 2002 E46 with 190k miles on the odometer.

After a year, still intact in my car. No issues so far and mechanic said it was good quality.

Fixed problem of overheated coolant rupturing hose from radiator to engine block. Original thermostat (23 years old) finally failed such closed.

Been installed for a few weeks and it doesn’t leak and everything is working as it should.

Swapped out coolant system, needed this thermostat. Easy peasy, 30m to 1hr max job.

Works as it should.thank you.
