CKD cat owners rejoice!
Comes out like toothpaste. We use it for our renal cat. You can put it on your finger like toothpaste and wipe it on the roof of their mouth. It helps with their potassium and health. It works really well and is absorbed great, and my cat's lab values for potassium improved within a month. It is a great size, smells yummy like maple syrup, and the tube is pretty sturdy and holds up against cat teeth.

Helping my cat's appetite!
It does seem to be helping my older female cat, who is about 16.5 years old. She does have elevated blood count numbers that indicate her kidney's are beginning to go - and she did drink more water than she used to. Although, since I started giving this to her (about 1/2 inch in paste), she seems to not drink as much (still quite a bit but better) and her appetite has improved. I've been giving this to her about the last 2 months, everyday. And she does not react negatively to it - so that is a good sign, I recommend!

Kitty says it works
Cats don’t like anything that’s not their idea. My cat was not thrilled with this product. However, I’d make sure she gets it down. She’s 21 years old and still with me, so I know it’s helping.

Gel potassium
I was recommended this from my cats veterinarian. He has CHF and the lasixs he's on make his potassium really low. I was hoping this would bring it up but it only brings it up a very bit. So I have to give him a high dosage of it to try and stabilize him. 😞 The only good thing is the fact he absolutely lovessss it. So the high dosage is easy to manage🙏❤️

My cat seems to like the flavor
Easy to mix into my cat's food, and he seems to like the maple flavor. It is a twice daily supplement though, but since taking this, my cat's potassium levels have been in the normal range.

It's about $27 at the vet office but I'm glad I found it here since it's cheaper
My 16 year old sphynx cat, Sweetness, has heart failure and kidney failure and almost passed away a year ago. Part of the treatment from my vet cardiologist, Dr. Anthony Tobias (Seattle, WA) is Renal K. Sweetness' potassium levels were way down and this supplement got her stabilized. It's about $27 at the vet office but I'm glad I found it here since it's cheaper. Sweetness gets 1/2 tsp every 24 hours. It smells like waffles but my girl doesn't like it. With practice and a tongue depressor I'm able to give it to her quite easily. I measure out the 1/2 tsp and scoop it up with a tongue depressor. Gently open her jaw with my left hand using my thumb and index finger to gently pry her jaw open making her mouth open, then gently drop it down her gullet. It takes only seconds. Works every time and it's a life saver in my opinion. I attached an image of the back of the tube that shows the active/inactive ingredients in case anyone needs to know.

Skip the gel - use pills instead!
I've had no problems with other cat meds that you apply on a front paw, which the cat licks off when grooming. But this stuff is totally different. First off, it has a strong maple scent and flavor that my cat wanted no part of. (And just out of curiosity, I put a dab on a spoon and offered it to our other three cats. They also took one sniff and walked away.) The worst part is the consistency: I wouldn't describe it as a 'gel', but more like a thick, gooey light-brown glue (frankly, it reminded me of Weldwood contact cement.) When our cat refused to lick it, I couldn't even wash the stuff off with water - it just smeared deeper into his fur, and took several weeks to wear off on its own. I ended up tossing the whole tube and switching to the same potassium gluconate in pill form. Wish I'd saved $15-20 and just gone with pills in the first place - I only bought the gel because Amazon doesn't offer the pills. (I later learned that, for some inexplicable reason, the gel form is over-the-counter but the same med in pill form requires a prescription. So buying the pills online requires a specialized seller like Chewy that's set up to handle prescription vet meds.)

Cat got used to it very quickly, has been on it for more than six months now, stable kidneys.
