Works as intended, satisfied
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Seems to work adequately, and handy. You can use it for aeration if you want to go big and drill a few holes in hard soil. You can use it to make a small hole or start small to go bigger. I would purchase again.

Know your soil first.
I have loose soil and this works well for planting bulbs in the ground IF you aren't trying to use in a rocky area. Unit held up well and was a good size for daffodils and tulips. Easy to use in any drill.

Good quality for the price👍🏼
It’s not to bad I used mine on some pretty thick and clay like soil. I’m sure I’ll never use it again but it’s a nice tool to have.

Works great with less hard packed soil
I bought this to place holes in soil that was somewhat hardpacked. It works well with looser soil and soil that is moderately compacted. I have a few areas where the slightly clayey soil seems to have been very compacted and it doesn't work as well in those areas. However some of those areas are so compacted that using a mattock is slow work. The hole ends up being about 2 inches in diameter. I've been using a battery operated drill, an older 18v Black and Decker Firestarter, and it works fine. A still older 9v DeWalt drill was not really suitable as it ran out of juice after only a few holes. And of course the amount of energy used depends on how compact the soil is. Roots can be a problem. I've used it to drill through lawn grass for a hole and the roots tangled about the auger shaft a bit. It has worked out well enough.

Small size
Works well but the quality is poor. I wish it would be a larger size to choose.

Perfect tool for planting Tree Fertilizer Spikes
I always hated planting tree fertilizer spikes with a hammer. Then I found and purchased this tool on Amazon. I now use it with my cordless drill and it makes the job so much easier. The auger bit is well made and value priced. Highly recommended.
