My childhood dreams come true
NVG - Night Vision Goggles This model of NVG is amazingly cheap for what it's capable of. It is one of the only head mounted NVG's that have a 1x zoom, making them usable on foot while traversing an area. They also have a zoom function, but I personally find it nauseating because I suffer from motion sickness. (The NVG in general use does not trigger my motion sickness, don't be put off if you suffer from motion sickness too) The battery life on this NVG is exceedingly long, It's never ran out for me while using it, and I charge it once every week, with fairly frequent use. This is a very cool device to show your friends, and by far the best choice for this price. It has 7 IR levels, the seventh being the most visible. Also has brightness settings, which for some reason can be combined with IR 2 on max brightness to make it look like it's on IR 7. Battery saving tip, I suppose. Now, for the downsides. The only downsides that I have found after a couple months of use is the screen fogging up, and worst of all, the part you put your eyes on is extremely uncomfortable. It's a quick fix though, all you need to do is get a knife and shape it to your face shape. Without doing that, it'll dig into your forehead and cause great discomfort, well it did for me at least. In conclusion, I am extremely happy with this NVG and I would happily buy it again.

Inexpensive but fun NightVision
Probably the best option for IR goggles under £200. Includes 7 levels of IR illumination but be warned, the dull red glow from the two infrared illuminators will be visible. Still, better than shining a very obvious torch to tell everyone within a half mile you're there. What's useful is the IR mode 0 that allows you to use an external IR source with a higher wavelength so you can be more invisible but still use the goggles. A 940nm IR torch pointed to the ground will bounce enough IR light to illuminate the area so you can sneak up on your friends without being seen. Has digital zoom, only 2x though. Would definitely recommend for things like Airsoft. Use a tracer unit with glow in the dark BBs for some super realistic tracers to enhance your milsim experience.

Just do it.
I've had my eyes on these for about a year now and never pulled the trigger. I've been camping recently and decided why not. I'm very happy with the build quality and usability of this device. My only complaint would be the field of view. While this is perfectly usable, it feels as if you are standing about 4 paces in front of where you are causing a little bit of nausea, but I'm sure the more I use them the easier this will be. Final verdict? Just buy them.

After sales service
Nightfox are a great example why wherever possible you should buy British. Small problem all sorted out with an email. Not the case with some suppliers. Highly recommend this company not just for their after sales service but a nice piece of kit for the money. Kevin

Good value for money if you do not want to record footage
I recently acquired the Nightfox Swift Night Vision Goggles and was eager to put them to the test for nocturnal adventures. The compact design and promise of enhanced vision in low-light conditions made them an appealing choice for my outdoor pursuits. While the goggles provided clear visibility in the dark, allowing me to navigate with ease, there were a couple of drawbacks that detracted from the overall experience. Firstly, the lack of ability to record footage was disappointing, as I had hoped to capture some memorable moments during my night-time explorations. Additionally, the head mount design proved to be uncomfortable, with the goggles digging into my forehead after extended use. This discomfort was a significant downside, impacting my enjoyment of the goggles and limiting the duration of my outings. Despite these drawbacks, the Nightfox Swift Night Vision Goggles delivered on their promise of enhanced night vision, providing clear visibility in low-light conditions. However, potential buyers should be aware of the limitations regarding recording capabilities and the comfort of the head mount.

Shame as could have been better.
If night fox sorted the focusing wheel so it works better and actually focused and felt like the wheel on binoculars where it feels stiff and precise not loose I would have kept this but because it didn’t focus it left me with really bad headache and eye ache so I sent it back. One other thing is the back light to the screen shines out the gap round the front lens so you can be seen .

EMPFEHLUNG : Das Ding tut. Es sind aber einige Dinge zu beachten
Erstens! ;-)

Best night vision I've ever used!
I will say, this is the best night vision to me only because I've never owned night vision. The goggles are rugged, durable, and easy to use. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who is just getting into tacticool gear but isn't willing to spend thousands of dollars to see at night. However that's not to say it's without its problems, here is a list of some pros and cons: Pros: -Cheap, cheap is good -It's durable and sturdy (the NOD itself) -It's simple for beginners -Pretty long battery life when off (mine has held a full charge for about a week) Cons: -The headband mount it comes with is quite bad and uncomfortable to wear, and the plastic mounting plate is of questionable quality -the rubber eye piece can be hard to deal with if you have the wrong head or helmet shape -the screen glows pretty bright and the two IR illuminators glow red, making you pretty visible -the IR illuminators have a pretty limited range That was the end of my review, what's next is the modifications I made in order to make the device usable: I don't have the money for a ballistic helmet, nor do I want to downgrade protection to get a bump helmet. That is why I put the device on my M1 Steel Pot helmet. I simply extended the head-strap to fit the M1 (it was just barely too small) and secured it on with camo duct tape. It mounted sturdy enough, however the rubber eye piece would fold down and block my vision whenever I tried to move the device over my eyes. The rubber also blocked my peripheral vision, so I was tripping like the idiot I am. The seller was nice enough to tell me just to unscrew the 6 screws holding the goggles together and take the rubber out. I removed secured the glass plate that rests in the rubber guard back to the goggles with gorilla tape and a layer of more camo duct tape over it. Now the only downside to this modification is that, the durability may go down a bit when you replace components with tape, and the light from the screen is more visible in the night, and your face/eyes are pretty lit up. I don't see the eyes lit up as a totally bad thing, since the IR illuminator already gave off a visible red light. From this modification, you get your peripheral vision back, and can mount it on pretty much any helmet with enough tape!
