Q: does the rubber side grips get slippery when your hands get sweaty or no?

My son had no issues and he games for 8+ hours straight

Q: I’ve heard reports of the scroll wheel not working with the old model, is it fixed in this model?

I cannot say whether the old model did or did not work but the newer model I bought works just fine.

Q: What is the difference between this one and the G403 Prodigy?

The Hero seems to be the latest version, 25,600 max dpi sensitivity, perhaps more differences? Also the software update from G Hub is not available for the Prodigy.

Q: How do you change the color?? Will it remember the setting? Mine just arrived I really like it but it didn’t come with instructions

You have to download the Logitech G Hub application and install it on your PC. When you run it you can configure the buttons, speed, sensitivity, etc, along with the colors (you can make the logo and the scroll wheel a different color). When you turn the PC off the settings don't remain in the mouse, they will be reloaded automatically every time you reboot via the G Hub application. You will notice, on boot, that the mouse rotates colors, then when the G Hub app starts the color will lock on to the color you chose.

Permanent Scroll Issue - G403 itself is a defective Model

I'm writing this review after using this mouse extensively for 2 years, where in I have replaced it once under warranty due to scroll issuesGuess what: The new piece has also started showing problems in scroll wheel after a few months of usage, Upon scouring the internet I found out that the model G403 is in itself is defective and it is a very serious hardware problemIf you are spending 3-4k on a mouse - I highly recommend NOT to choose this mouse, the model itself is faulty and while logitech claiming it has released a firmware fix - it is a hardware issue, almost all the pieces has this scroll wheel issue and no software update can fix it- I'd strongly advise you not to pick this mouse and save your money
