Is this the same radio DE321?

After carefully comparing the two, I think a China manufacturer designed and built such a fine radio they allowed another company to but their logo on it. I have a very rare SYMPHONIC MINI-MAX 300 that I researched thoroughly and the only other one I have a photo of has a different chrome logo attached across the front speaker. If you buy one, you'll like, it no matter who's name is on it. May I suggest that if you purchase one, a nice case to protect it and the ear buds you may have to get the rich sound it can produce........ To clarify my previous q - inside faraday - must long antennas be removed to protect vs emp & would it be enough to keep antenna non-extended?

You should not have any need to remove the antenna. Any metallic and grounded surround is likely to protect the radio from EMP. Of course, that same Faraday cage would prevent reception also. A binary choice; protection vs news.

This radio is capable of picking up 9.85 Mhz. on shortwave. If Korea broacatsts on that freq, then yes it has the capability depending on your location etc. 98.5 Mhz would be an FM frequency, and it does have the FM band, but it is not an inernational shortwave band.

Shortwave bands did not work.. Cheap product!

SADLY ALL Shortwave Bands did not work .. ZILCH! Seems like a dated design (old style slider band switch), and though it claims to have a DSP (it may have some sort of basic DSP) , it still seems very much like a dated design.. Also build quality seemed flimsy,,, cheap plastic , tacky all round, and really really cheap overpriced item.. just avoid and find a better quality radio receiver..
