Is this "Speedsafe" kershaw where its assisted open or a non assisted like a true emerson

It is not "speedsafe". There is no spring assist.

Is the Emerson logo painted on or engraved; does it look like it will chip off?

The logo appears to be etched through the coating and onto the steel itself. Even if you do wear down the coating, the logo will remain. However, it'll be silver on silver, so there won't be as much contrast. As for the coating itself, it is tough stuff. It will scratch and show wear (not especially easily though), but I have not been able to chip mine.
