Good historical novel. Not so great writing.
Griff Hosker has written a lot of books-and it shows.Poor or no copy editing, broken dialog, punctuation errors and odd grammar (OK, he's a Brit and I'm an American but I read a lot of British texts and know most of their peculiar usage). The central character, William, is well drawn yet seems more 20th century than 15th. Perhaps we cannot know a 15th century mind but I often wonder at his thoughts.Regardless, the series is a worthy read.

Fascinating Story Telling
There is so much detail here, but the story never lags. The characters have enough background to identify with and the richness of English history is conveyed on every page! Also detailed is the rich culture and way of life of the ordinary people of the period. Although this book - all of the books in the series - is a work of fiction, the history is accurate except where a few dates are adjusted for story purposes. This book is a great read!

Outstanding the Battle will be won
I thank Griff Hosker again for a great historical story of the Knights, Men at Arms, Archers and all the men and boys who fought for England. Henry V has been a king to admire. He was an honorable King and the men who followed him and served him are to be admired.

Inconsistent
Always enjoyr Hoskers books. I follow several series. But it is super frustrating to start a new book and have him change things from the past books. In this one he starts off saying his wife wanted him promoted to a baron and such since he deserved it, which he does, but in previous books he has already been given that title of baron. Its hard to focus on the book when he seems stuck on not being given a title he has already been given.

As usual history presented in a good tale
I am blistering through this series. Again Hosker has put history into an exciting format. It is shame that all of English history isn't told so well. I feel the joy of the victory and pain of lives lost.

Page turning action and excitement from beginning to end!!
What more can be said about the author of this great read? Once again Griff shows why he is a master story teller weaving historical fact with fictional characters so real you feel like you have known them and are riding and fighting alongside. Another great work!!!

Hosker keeps getting better, even if his hero is embarrassingly perfect.
Another one that I found hard to put down. All his books follow the same basic path, yet never seem boring or repetitive. That in itself is the sign of a good writer

Still wonderful
Usually a series will get old by now but Mr Hosker has the touch. Every bit as good as the earlier books.

Excellent as usual
This is Mr Hosker’s second recent book about a history changing battle, the first was “Crecy”. I will cheat here and highly recommend both books in a single review. Both show the battle from a single English viewpoint but also give an excellent and historically correct overview of the whole event. They also cover the build up and aftermath of the battles that is sometimes missing from other books. To summarise: I found both books fascinating and read them in a single session, for anyone with an interest in history I can’t recommend Griff Hosker too highly.

A Series Highlight
One of the best of the series to date. We follow Sir William Strongstaff to France, and the battle of Agincourt (Azincort). Hosker keeps the reader gripped throughout - this is a real page turner with realistically drawn battle sequences! I must admit I thought this might be the end of our hero, who regular readers have followed since his days as a scavenger in the Blue Company. Strongstaff survives Agincourt - but can he survive the other demands King Henry V makes on his loyal protector? Read on and see.

Excellent
Everything throughout this series has been brilliant enough to make the reader have a feeling of being there. Being an avid reader of our history makes it even more interesting!

Another brilliant chapter
The books just get better and better the battle scenes are vividly brought to life with brilliant writing. A band of brothers who fought and died for each other

Another winner
Continues on the same theme as the series, slightly less exciting but it is as expected, good solid adventure. A worthwhile read.
