UPGRADING TO 5 STARS- UPDATE AT BOTTOM I've installed nearly 20 different smart locks over the past 10 years and this one ranks 2nd only to a Schlage z-wave model that was sadly discontinued two years ago. PROS: Really high quality through and through--even the packaging. This lock is HEAVY with lots of nice brushed metal finishes and very nicely crafted levers that look and feel high end. Everything looks and feels refined, even the mounting hardware underneath. This company put a lot of time and effort into the details, including the packaging, which even includes a customized hex key and screwdriver set. The unlocking mechanism in the lock uses an electromagnet that is virtually silent and has no motor or moving gears unlike almost every other smart lock out there. The Schlage model I love has this feature as well. Not only does it make the lock virtually silent when operating, it saves battery life and is much more reliable in the long term with no moving parts (more or less-it's a solenoid which I don't really consider a moving part for the purposes here). There's no whirring or grinding of gears when the door locks or unlocks. Comes with two physical keys so you'll never get locked out if the batteries or electronics die. The fingerprint scanner is WONDERFUL. Incredibly fast and reliable. I come in wet and/or dirty from skiing or working outside 50% of the time and I can count on one hand the number of times the scanner didn't recognize my fingerprint on the first try. Really, really good hardware and software throughout. CONS: You're pretty limited in your ability to pair this lock with a standard smart home system like SmartThings, Alexa, Homekit, etc. You're out of luck if you use Hubitat. Pairing with SmartThings only gives you lock/unlock control. There's no ability to set user codes through the app which kind of sucks. The Utec app is ok but having to use a separate branded app for setting user codes is an extra step and unnecessary hassle. I imagine they will provide better integration in the future but for now you're kind of stuck if you want to integrate the lock into an existing smart home system. There is only one option when it comes to lock sounds- on or off. No volume control. The unlock sound is rather loud so if you're installing this anywhere near other doors where people might be sleeping you're going to have to turn it off entirely. The reason that's not ideal is that it also turns off the volume for the touchscreen. When you press a number on the touchscreen, it flashes off momentarily so you know you pressed it, but the numbers are so small that they are essentially entirely covered with your fingerprint when you press them. Thus without the sound feedback it's really difficult to be sure you actually pressed the number and can move onto the next one in your door code. This is especially true if you're wearing gloves. There's also no way to customize the unlock sound or key press sounds. The unlock sound isn't terrible but it's not particularly pleasant and as stated before, it's LOUD. Volume control or customized tones would be a really nice upgrade. All in all this is a really good lock. The hardware is top notch throughout and with some minor upgrades to the software, this lock could truly be excellent. UPDATE: About a year and a half after installation, the lever on the keypad side of the lock started sagging slightly. A month later, something slipped/cracked/who knows inside the assembly so that the lever would only work when pushing it in; shortly afterwards it would just spin. I thought I was going to be out of luck but I went back to my order and saw that there was a lifetime mechanical warranty on the lock. I emailed Ultraloq through Amazon and they responded almost instantly--within just a couple of hours. They asked me for some very basic information on the lock and requested that I email my original receipt and a picture of the broken lever. Within two hours of my email, they asked me for a shipping address and said a replacement unit would be sent out immediately. They weren't kidding! The replacement lock shipped out the next morning and I received it two days later at absolutely zero charge. I was expecting only a replacement of the keypad-side of the lock as that was the defective part but they actually sent out a brand new, complete lockset in original packaging. That was amazing and I couldn't ask for better customer service than what Ultraloq provided. Updated my original four star review to five stars given the way the company honored their warranty and then went way above and beyond for me. Highly recommended again!

I was very hesitant to buy but once I received it I was very glad I did. Installation was super easy: no drilling needed whatsoever (at least in my case). Instructions were very clear, and the package includes needed tools as well as video instructions. Installing the App and pairing the lock and the bridge was also very quick. The fingerprint reader is very responsive, although I occasionally have to reposition my finger. The build quality seems solid, but I wish they had more variety of finishes. The App gives full control, including 3 modes of operation: Normal, Passage, and Lockout (lock wouldn’t open even if using the correct code or fingerprint). The bridge connected flawlessly at first, but then it was losing connections at times. However, I was amazed by their technical support who responded and immediately fixed the issue remotely. Obviously, you can update the lock firmware yourself via the App, but you can’t update the bridge yourself ( I just granted U-Tec access to my lock, and they easily accessed and updated the bridge in no time). Now the bridge connects much faster and is very reliable, whether I am at home connecting via Bluetooth, wifi, or even remotely via cellular (within few seconds when remote). After using it for few weeks, I believe this is an excellent buy given its very convenient features, build quality, and the handy support. And the price drop right now is very tempting.

Pretty straightforward to install and setup. Nice that it alerts you verbally when the battery is low. I chose this one in order to have a manual key backup just in case. I had an issue with the bridge not working after an update about 3 years after installing it. Support was helpful in troubleshooting, replacing the bridge at no cost, and following up to make sure that it worked.

The Ultraloq Lever hardware seems to be sturdy and robust, or in other words, a high-quality product. Installation was fairly simple and straightforward, assuming typical homeowner DIY skills. However, while my Ultraloq Lever initially worked well, the fingerprint reader performance deteriorated over several weeks to the point where it failed to read my fingerprint on every attempt. The keypad continued to work perfectly so I was able to continue using the device albeit without the fingerprint feature. When I called tech support to create a ticket, I was pleasantly surprised by U-Tec's very responsive tech support team. It was easy to get in touch with a real person who was knowledgeable and able to help. Replacement hardware was shipped quickly and follow up emails were sent asking me for updates on my issue. I discovered the "Magic Shake" feature in which I just shake my phone to unlock the door. It's a great feature, but I'm having some difficulty getting it to work on more than one phone. I'm also experimenting with the geo fencing capability to automatically unlock the door, but haven't gotten that to work yet. I'll keep working to enable these features and if needed, I'll contact tech support for help. Overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase of the Ultraloq Lever. Even though I had a hardware issue and I haven't yet successfully configured a couple of software features, knowing that U-Tec has solid tech support gives me confidence that I'll get these features to work properly.

We had a simple objective; find a smartlock to allow access to a portable building. Must haves included: fingerprint reader, keypad, WiFi and a door latch to opens. The fingerprint reader worked great for the most part; once our favorite digits were added, the reader did it's thing and told the lock to open the door. Five stars. The keypad also seemed to work well, but to be fair, it didn't get a thorough workout because the fingerprint reader was doing its thing; there was little reason to use the keypad. Five stars. The WiFi was a bit problematic. We placed the gateway as close as possible (roughly six feet), but it would only work briefly and infrequently. It was an annoyance, but not a deal killer. Nonetheless, Zero stars for not being able to work within six feet with clear line of sight. The latch is where things really fell apart. A fingerprint reader isn't much good when the doorlatch mechanism isn't able to retract. This thing worked like a charm for a couple of months, with only minor issues (the whole mechanism would gradually rotate on the door in the direction the handle was turned). After a couple of months, however, we found ourselves locked inside with a lock mechanism that wouldn't retract. I took the thing apart, but still couldn't get the latch to retract so I could get out. It took 30 minutes or so of playing with the latch before I could figure out a way to get it to retract so I could open the door. A few days before the thing fell apart, I noticed the handle didn't feel quite right. Zero stars for a lock that doesn't last more than a couple of months, and locks LOCKS YOU INSIDE A BUILDING. Consider yourself warned.

This product is really high quality and well made, durable and tough as it should be as a door lever. This is a top notch product, not like other cheap stuff made by other companies. I used mine for about two years and works really well. Very dependable and has functioned properly everytime. I liked it so much I purchased a second one for my rental property. I like how the product offers an app for smart phones like iPhone that connects with lever allowing me to open and set passwords for folks to enter. The app also helped me to know who entered the unit and when. I have it in my rental condo. It is so convenient since I do not need to meet in person to give or collect keys from new renters, cleaners, or building maintenance (in case they need to come in). I know exactly when they came in and additionally, i can delete their access to the unit at anytime by deleting or limiting their access to certain time of the day or week. I decided to write this review because I had a small technical concern and i contacted the company. Wow, what a great service. For a product which I bought in 2020, going on 3 years, the company’s support team were extending their assistance to assure I was satisfied with the product and their support. Also, the support team periodically emailed me, checking to assure my concerns were fully resolved. They would not stop until I say, yes, my concerns were resolved. I really needed a great customer service company like this after many disappointing encounters with other companies. To help on a product which the company sold more than 2 years ago? I did not think a company like this exist and yes, this is one that I can recommend based on my very very positive encounter. Since this company truly exceeded my expectation on customer service, I am taking time to write this review. Again, kudos to this company for a great product and additional kudos to their team who truly cares about their customers. Thank you.

Got it with Bridge and it works flawlessly! I have been using it for 6 months now and Can unlock my office from anywhere in the world. Even created 1 time passes with schedules for maintenance people that would only allow them in once on the time frame you choose. Installing took no more than 20 minutes and registering codes and/or fingerprints are as easy as it gets. Comes with 2 keys in case you forget your codes, fingerprints don't work or you run out of battery. I keep em in my closet hidden outside the office just in case it ever happens. One neat feature is that in case battery drains out and you get locked out it has a microusb port on the bottom. All you have to do is hook up a power bank or external battery and you are good to go! Just open the door again and replace batteries from the inside Lock looks very stylish and is well made, works left or right and reads fingerprints super fast. You can also unlock with app and if you have an Apple Watch you can make it open automatically when u get close to it. Alexa integration is great, you can unlock via app or by voice which will ask for a code. I don't recommend this feature tho, cuz anyone can listen to it and then open the door from the outside. I just use Alexa to unlock via app which can also be donde thru their own app Customer service is great! I had issues with the bridge device they shipped and they sent me a new one for free even before I had to return the old one. They helped me set it up and even upgraded to latest firmware remotely. Definitely outstanding customer service if you ask me Would definitely recommend to everyone!

Installed this a couple months ago, got it from an Amazon flash sale. Its installed on the entry door from garage to house, so no exposure to weather. Installed directly into the pre-cut holes in door and jam, I didnt have to make any adjustments. I created individual passcodesand fingerprints for my wife and our kids. So far it has worked perfectly for me, my wife occasionally will complain that the fingerprint reader wont activate for her but I have never been able to duplicate that failure so I think she's crazy, or just having bad luck. I researched other models this company makes and my favorite feature on this model is the pass through mode. From the interior backside of the lock, bia a button, I can disable the lock to allow anyone to open the door. This is great for when we have family or friends over and kids are going in and out of the house. My only complaint is that the handles dont attach as securely as I would want. There is a little wiggle in them but not a really issue. To make them tighter I just used a little paperboard to shim them. Plus if one fell off in your hand it wouldn't prevent you from getting in or out through the door as the mechanism is solid, just slide the handle back on real quick.
