Inswing Threshold 7 13/16 in x 72 in w/Composite Cap and Base - Bronze

This threshold replaced one that was over 15 years old and the oak portion had rotted away. On this one, the wood is actually a composite material so I'm hoping for more than 15 years. I ordered one for a pair of French doors and the opening was 72". This threshold was about 74" which gave me options to trim or adjust the jambs - this is great as exactly 72" would have been a fraction short. It glues to the concrete or subfloor with a construction adhesive (I used Gorilla glue) and then I caulked the outside with a black colored caulk to match the metal - it doesn't move at all. It took longer to take up the old threshold which was glued down and clean up the concrete in prep than it took to install the new threshold. Overall, maybe an hour to 90 minutes to install. It was packed nice and seems to be high quality. Even my local big box hardware stores didn't have one as nice as this one. I highly recommend. One minor negative - you have to drill for the bottom flush bolt to go down into the composite (if using for a pair of doors) and I was worried about the hole getting larger over time. I bought a small metal grommet from Lowe's for a few dollars and glued it into the hole for longevity and protection to the composite material.

This is slightly cheaper and much better than something you would find at home depot or lowes. Was a little nervous buying on Amazon, but it was shipped in a short amount of time and was exactly as described. Love that it's not wood like our previous one that rotted.
