Where is this knife manufactured?

Civivi is a sub-brand if WE Knives. Both are manufactured in China. I own a Baklash. It is a very nicely made knife with great flipping action.

Is this knife Assisted opening?

It is not, but I like this better. I have a couple assisted opening knives. While opening a higher end assisted open knife might be a 5 out of 5, closing them is a 3 out of 5 at best and some are outright dangerous to close one-handed. Some lower end assisted-open knives are harder to open than a Civivi on bearings. Opening on a knife with good bearings like a Civivi is a 4 out of 5 (maybe 4.5) and closing them is a 5/5. Getting a good knife on bearings will get you similar benefits to assisted open with none of the drawbacks.
