Super quick meat substitute!
These soya chunks have the mouthfeel of cooked hamburger chunks. They absorb the fluid of whatever you put them in, and soften up within a few minutes. I toss them in the "Bear Creek" chili mix that I also order from Amazon, and they become indistinguishable from the ground beef that I also add. I put them in instant Ramon noodles, and they end up tasting like the children or beef flavor of the noodle flavor packet.

As a meat eater? This was extremely yummy! Like Steak
Iโm trying to be more vegetarian for my significant other. I looked into this. Experimented with it by boiling it in vegetarian chicken stock, rosemary, and maybe a little too much Kitchen Bouquet Seasoning Sauce for 10 mins. Squeezed it. Sautรฉed it in butter. It tasted like a nice cut up juicy steak. I WAS SHOCKED! My brain turned off for a moment. Anyways! Looking forward to experimenting with it more!

Trying Soya for the first time
Iโm conflicted about this. May have to look at some recipes to entice my kids. But size and value Iโll give an A+ Update** Iโve mastered my recipe. Once rehydrated the chunks are big so I chopped it up and went ahead with my plan. No complaints

Definitely worth it
I purchased these for the first time and didn't know what to expect. They remind me a little of tofu, they have no flavor until you add it. You can be quite creative when making these. I rehydrate these with a seasoned broth instead of just water and they are very tasty. I told my son about them and I ended up getting him them. He made popcorn chicken with them and my two grandsons ended up loving them, they are 5 and 6. For the quantity, quality and price, these are definitely worth trying.

Uck
I have gone through every online tip to make these taste like anything besides cardboard, but their large round shape doesn't absorb any flavor, even after simmering in flavorful marinades for hours. They aren't easy to use, aren't versatile (they always have the same cardboardy inside that curries and seasoning can't penetrate,) and I bought too much for the shelf life and poor quality. I would not recommend. TVP tidbits and slices are much better.

Kinda weird, but also great!
If you're a fan of vegan proteins and don't mind when they aren't 1:1 approximations of real meat, these are great. Put them in crock pot stews, and they soften nicely and soak up a ton of flavor. Chewy, big lumps of vegan protein shouldn't be missed (unless you're super picky about texture!)

LOVE THEM
I hydrated a handful in soy sauce, smoked paprika, and water, drained and squeezed them out, rolled them in a blend of: salt, black pepper, sun dried tomato, garlic and onion powder, fried them in olive oil, and served them with a homemade hot tahini sauce...delicious vegan protein, love them.

Best
I have stopped buying soya chunks from local stores! This is tad bit cheaper, cleaner and cokes in a big jar thatโs easy to store! Manufacturing date is clearly mentioned versus the local store that mostly have fudge on the labels! Goes without saying that itโs tastes fresher and tastier. My 3rd purchase, will recommend it to anyone with pleasure! Kudos to the manufacturer.
