LIPAVI 10.8 by 8-inch racks: adjustable, functional, and durable
I recently took the plunge into sous vide cooking. Rather than going immediately with the relatively expensive Sous Vide Supreme, and risking the higher loss from purchasing what could have been a one-off device, I decided to go small for testing purposes. After doing research, I decided on the Anonva Precision Cooker and a Cambro 4.75-gallon box as a water tank. I then looked for a rack or some other device to use instead, and found nothing that fit what I had in mind. I used the standard binder clip arrangement for a while, then, a couple of weeks ago, I checked again for a solution and found these Lipavi racks. Apparently a brand new item, they looked to be the perfect solution. With the thought of eventually upgrading to the Sous Vide Supreme, I especially like that this set will fit it, making the price even better. The 10.8" x 8 inch set fits perfectly in my Cambro, leaving approximately four inches of space between the tank wall and the rack; plenty of room for the Anova. The racks are nicely adjustable. The outer two racks are permanently attached, and fold down for storage. The remaining racks are removable, and adjust by placement in corresponding slots, allowing you to choose a size adequate for your portion sizes. I find if additional weight is needed above the cooking bags, two 1/4 size cooling racks (example link at the end of this review) sit nicely on top of and cover the rack. As to durability and quality, the literature that came with the racks advises not to leave them immersed for long periods of time ("weeks," the manual says). I have had these completely immersed for three straight days, having cooked three separate meals in so many days, without any sign of rust on any part of the racks. Anyone familiar with cheap home canning equipment has surely experienced the irritation of rusted "stainless" steel, not the case with this set. As for now, I could not be more pleased with these racks. I'm including two photos showing the placement of the 10.8" x 8" rack set in the Cambro 12189CW135 box. Pros: Nice, well-made, hefty racks. After three straight days of submersion, the racks show no sign of rusting, even at soldered joints. Adjustable, and folds/stacks to a nice, small footprint set secured with an included Velcro strap. Cons: None at this time. Example set of 1/4 size cooling racks, as mentioned above: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MHSX5UA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Perfect fit for 12 Quart Polycarbonate Square Container with Anova Sous Vide Stick. Keeps packets separated AND submerged!
I was debating between the different sizes of Lipavi's Sous Vide racks and decide to go for this L10 model over the 26SD model that is $10 more expensive and the R20 model that is $10 cheaper. For me, this model was the perfect size. The 26SD that is $69.00 would have been too big for the container I use most regularly, and I think I would have found the R20 to be ONLY useful for the container I regularly use and not very useful for when I use larger containers for when cooking for guests. This Sous Vide Rack is just small enough to fit in my 12 Quart Polycarbonate Container ( Camwear Polycarbonate Square Food Storage container, 12 Quart ) that I use more regularly for cooks that are just for me and/or my family....but at the same time I think it is also big enough for when I use the 4.75-Gallon Polycarbonate Container ( Cambro 12189CW135, Polycarbonate Camwear Boxes, 4.75-Gallon, Clear for whenever I am cooking larger items or a bigger quantity of food if I am having guests. As you can see in my pics, this L10 model rack squeezes into my 12 Quart Container with the Anova Immersion Circulator with no issues. Lipavi is really generous with the number of racks/dividers they provide. I do not anticipate using more than 3 (in addition to the end pieces that are permanently attached), resulting in 5 divided spaces, simply because I do not really cook things that require such narrow spaces in large quantities. However, it is nice to know I can do so if I want and that I have extra racks/dividers if I need and/or break or lose any. MORE IMPORTANTLY, the instructions that came with the box suggested using the extra racks to hold the food down in the slots and prevent it from floating to the top in the water. When I was looking for a rack, I was merely looking for something to keep the different packets of food from sticking to each other in the water, but I did not realize a rack could also solve my problem of sometimes food floating to the top and not staying submerged to get properly cooked. With this rack, the different packets will remain separated from each other AND stay submerged.

Nice quality and really works well
I mainly Sous Vide for two people and so using a smaller plastic bin saves water and electric. I needed something that would keep items submerged as well as separate when doing two or three bags. This is nice and everything is configurable. The dividers pop in and out in different places. The size is perfect for smaller cooks or for larger bins where you don’t want to use the entires space. Since it comes apart, it is very easy to clean. It’s also a nice weight and feels very sturdy and stable. Definitely recommend this item.

Good
This is not something mandatory to own, as you can let your bags float around, but I like it because it keeps my food underwater. You can adjust it and wedge in food, or use clips. I also have the Sous Vide Ninja rack. Here are the differences: This one is 316L, SVN is 304. Both are great material choices. 316L is better, but 304 is plenty good. This one has little balls on the bottom to reduce chance of scratching pan or tub. SVN has heavier gauge wire for the handles. It does help quality perception to have the thicker wire, but makes no practical difference. This one has loose-fitting dividers, which is good in that you can easily move the dividers, but they do wobble around. A little extra tightness would be nice. SVN has very tight fitting divider, which I didn't like, as I could not change them without a major effort. I would change this to five stars if it had the heavier gauge wire from the SVN, and if the racks had less wobble (but I wouldn't want them tight so that they are hard to pull out).

A simple solution...
Wow...SO AWESOME and SO SIMPLE! BIG THUMBS UP!!! It works exactly as you'd imagine. Works just like a letter sorter, but with adjustable slots. You drop the food "envelope" in the slot, it stays in place (you can adjust it to make it snug), and it cooks right where you put it. You can designate just the right gap between food "envelopes" to make sure the water circulates and things cook right. The one thing I'd say is with a wand sous vide device and normal "square" 12 quart tub this rack is a tight fit. It works just fine, but the rectangular tub works a bit better. I learned this after seeing my brother's larger rectangular tub. Nothing is worse than being jealous of a sibling's sous vide tub! So...In short...The Lipavi L10 is AWESOME! Just make sure you have a large enough I wish a solution to sous vide bagging was as simple as this solution to how to keep the bags organized in the tub. You can buy this and count on it to do exactly what you expect it to. You won't be disappointed!!

This rack really keeps things in their place when used with sous vide cooking.
This is a great rack for use in sous vide cooking. It is adjustable, and keeps food items from resting on the floor of the cooking vessel so that water circulates completely around the food items, including the bottom. You can space things out and they do not move. The rack keeps things from floating, so they stay submerged, as well as stay in place. Before I used this rack I had tried just free floating my bags of food, but they kept being swept over to a side and pressed up against the kettle wall. (I have been using a canning kettle as a sous vide cooking vessel.) I have an Annova precision cooker and with this rack, it works great. I have done chicken breasts and ribeye steaks and both have worked great in the rack. It breaks down to store sort of flat, so it doesn't take up too much room and is easy to store. I am very glad I bought this, it has really helped keep things in place when cooking sous vide.

PERFECT rack to pair with the 9 quart Igloo Island Breeze Cooler!
I debated a long time about buying one of these LIPAVI Sous Vide Rack - Model L10, Stainless Steel, Square 7.8 X 6.4 Inch, Height 6.6 Inch . The problem I had was the given dimensions and where I wanted to use it. Then it got put on sale and I figured worse case I could return it. Long story short, it fit!! Why was this such a big deal? I really wanted to use it in the Igloo Island Breeze Cooler (Diablo Red, 9-Quart) . It fit perfectly. I was debating between getting this one or the larger L15 model. I have a larger ice chest I use to sous vide ribs and briskets and if the L10 was marginally too big for the small cooler I could use it there, but why not get the next larger rack to fit my larger chest? Problem was that the larger chest was really too cumbersome for ease of use. The 9 quart cooler fits nicely in the sink and is easy to set up and empty. The only issue I have with this rack is that it's small enough that you can really only use three dividers (for four steaks) or four dividers (for something less thick). I can't ever see using the five dividers that come with it. For a couple or small family, this is a good choice, otherwise, get a larger sous vide container and a larger rack. By the way, since the Igloo Island Breeze Cooler has been mentioned so much as sous vide friendly, the price on Amazon is about twice what you'd pay going to a store near you. I paid $10 for it and it wasn't on sale.

Nice way to improve cooking and waterflow!!!
Awesome device. So I got originally for my Rubbermaid 12 qt which fits well enough as long as your bags aren't too big. But after asking and getting answer from company, I got a second one for my c20 lapavi container and lid. 2 of these fit well into the c20. The rack made for the 20 was really pricey and since I'm just a home player I went with two of these. Can either use them separately in my 2 Rubbermaid 12 qt containers or together in the c20. Win win all around. 316l stainless is marine grade so should hold up really well and has so far. Disassembles nicely and held togethwr with the included Velcro wrap is great. So far happy with all my lapavi stuff. As far as I can tell it's the only rack available on Amazon that's 316L marine grade stainless steel. All the rest are plastic or 304 which is nice but marine grade is meant to handle even salt water which is normally death to steel. Would definitely buy again

Erstaunlich gut
Hmm...
