Interesting read which gets into quite a good level of detail about an effective way of passively investing to build wealth over the long term. Not 5 stars as all the recommendations are USA based and it is difficult to translate what you learn in this book into investing in the UK.

Mostly about portfolios
I'm still half-way through the book but I already regret buying it. It looks like around 75% of the book is about building portfolios instead of discussing what a ETF is and the different facets of ETFs. If there isn't much to discuss about ETFs, well, at least it shouldn't waste my time with boring portfolios, a shorter book would be more appropriate. For me "for dummies" suggests the basics on a particular topic, and yet the book fails to deliver just that. For instance I had to google how often a distributing ETF pays the dividend and where to find that information, because the book wouldn't tell me that. Or, why does it matter so much the annual management fee if an ETF is fast growing anyway? The author seems to have an obsession with the fees which are not much anyway and also absorbed in the price of the ETF. At some point, page 146, the author says that if ones needs to sell a security from a portfolio, then he recommends one that has appreciated. I find that hilarious, I would do the exact opposite. What is the point of shutting down the winners and keeping the losers?

A great introduction to ETFs
Investing in ETFs for Dummies is a great introduction into ETFs. The book covers different types of ETFs and the reasons one might invest in each type, risk and return, and goes on to describe how to create a portfolio. The book prefers style investing over sector investing. If youโre looking to get rich quick buy lithium stocks maybe give this one a miss. But if your goal is to build a good quality portfolio over time for the right reasons I would highly recommend. This book sits on my shelf as a reference I come back to time and time again.

Da leggere e rileggere
Eccellente introduzione agli Etf. Molto soddisfatto.

Good ... But update please!
A great introduction to ETFs and an easy read. Its the first fiance book that I've read all the way through. An update would be nice though. The book keeps referring to fees associated with ETFs. I'd love to know how the commission free brokerage would impact the advice.

Highly Recommend!
The read deal. No gimmicks, no hype, no ridiculous strategies. Written by an investment professional, the information presented is straightforward with how to grow a retirement account (big or small) over the long term. He makes specific recommendations for ETF funds to invest in with clear, concise reasons with why (or why not) to consider such funds. Further, he explains the theory behind "balancing" one's account between several different funds for maximum diversification which reduces risk to stock market fluctuations. With so many investment books out there, this is a both highly informative and a fun read as well.
