Good food my dog loves the stuff but now he can’t have it. He has pancreatitis and they don’t make this kind of food for pancreatitis dogs

i started feeding my 11lb service dog honest kitchen kitchen base mix in both flavors along with cooked beef after trying 5 other dog foods. she is allergic to rice and to chicken. the base mix solved the problem and i make it in daily batches and freeze (score the center so you can break into meals if you forget to remove the night before from the freezer). she loves both flavors. i also add a couple teaspoons of any veggies, cereal, fruit, etc i have as taste treats on the top. this has truly solved her food problem completely. i bought the patés this winter as a backup for anytime i am unable to cook for her or she needs to stay with someone on an emergency basis as i won't have her stay in any kennel that doesn't know her training and commands. i have been topping her meals with a little paté instead of the veggies etc for the last two weeks while i've had a bad cold. she has eaten it straight off with no stomach issues at all to where she can now eat half a box as a meal replacement. i am not a grain free person about my dog. dogs eat grains in the wild. she gets plenty of grains in treats etc. but i had to start figuring out what worked best for her and honest kitchen base mix and paté have truly been the answer. i have been so relieved these last 7 months to not have to worry about finding a food on which she thrives. incidentally i cook one lb of 93%lean beef for the base mixes and that makes 6 days of food. the paté meals will be fed as toppers so she can swap directly to them if necessary. thanks honest kitchen.

My only criticism with this product is its cost. I find it a bit expensive so mix it as a topper for special occasions or to give my doodle some variety. It is a high-quality pate—not soupy like some. Plus you can see the veggies in it. I realize it might seem I am stating the obvious, but I have purchased some “pates” which were more purees than pates. They claim to have veggies and I suppose they speak the truth but you would need a microscope to find them. This product is firm (but soft) with healthy ingredients. Lulu licks her bowl clean—which makes washing it so much easier!

She likes other wet food, and used to line all Honest Kitchen, didn’t care for this at all. I ended up feeding it to my beagle who eats everything. Won’t buy it again. She is also now on 100% homemade food…

The last time I tried Honest Kitchen was about 15 years ago when CoCo was one year old. At that time, I don't think they offered this Butcher Block Pate. Instead, I had bought a box of dry mix you combine with water. In CoCo's opinion, that one was a big fail, but I always wished he'd like an Honest Kitchen product since they make such high quality foods. CoCo is 16 years old on 4/1. He's had life long heart issues and is on 3 different medications. Meal time is also really important because I sneak his pills in there. For the last few years, he has been into the Cesar dog food. He really likes that but I also wanted to see how he feels about this food. Surprisingly, he appears to like it just as much as Cesars. The appearance and texture also remind me of Cesars, except I think the ingredients are probably much better. I plan to offer him both. Basically, at this stage whatever makes him happy! I just bought another 3-pack. When I bought this, I thought it might be a bit pricey, but it's really not too bad. You get 3 but each one is 10.5 oz., he couldn't eat it all in one sitting and one of them will last 2-3 meals. So, a 3-pack lasts me about 4 days. Happy with Honest Kitchen and glad I tried again.

Our mini Goldendoodle has been eating this pate for many years for his dinner. He’s only 15 lbs. so he’ll eat half of the container for a meal, and we typically sprinkle some grated cheddar cheese on top. He loves it!
