All labeling on the scale and in the display is in Japanese, so even after I downloaded the product manual in English from manualslib . com, I still had trouble selecting between "Male" or "Female" during initial setup. I Googled "Japanese symbols for male and female" and did not get a direct answer, but results helped me make what I hope was the correct choice. I wish the buttons were labeled in English.
