This compass is solid and sturdy. Its components are heavy enough that nothing loosens as I'm working with it. A great compass for woodwork! One bonus is that it holds "regular" pencils, even the nubs I'd otherwise throw away.

This compass is well made and works like a charm.

This compass is sturdy, simple, and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. The angle won’t change mid circle as long as you get the swing screw snug. The pencil won’t move as long as you get the pencil screw snug. Amy standard pencil fits. I’ll be getting rid of all my other compasses now.

Just what I needed for my woodworking projects! No more flimsy, hard to adjust student compass!

Seems to be nice quality. I have used it the last couple weekends a project to scribe aluminum angle. The machining of the parts is good in that there is tension in the joints where the parts don't shift unless moved intentionally. If you are using inside, I would this thing is near perfect. If using outside, my only comment spray down with WD40 or wipe down with oil before storing, as its not stainless steel and can develop surface rust quickly.

Like. Heavy duty. Can be used as a divider. Dislike. Missing the very small set screw used to secure a pencil in its sleeve. The whole point of a compass is to draw a circle so holding a pencil fixed in the sleeve is critical.

Very heavy duty can also be a little stiff very sharp point

This is a substantial and well-made compass. I have been looking for a heavy-duty one, and I got wood turning.
