Black Editition 24 x Colour Pencils

I love these pencils. I have a few colouring books I haven't been able to use as I've struggled using the old colouring pencils and a newer set of Stadtler Noris I already had, which are extremely hard. My fingers get very sore/stiff and as I read that these were supposed softer and thought I'd give them a try. I bought the pack of 36 at around £13.50 with a coupon so not the end of the world if they weren't right for me. I've been looking at all sorts of known brands and some I've never heard of and as I didn't want to spend a lot and I was impressed (and a little dubious about quality) that Faber Castell did this size set for the price. Having tried them out on a few projects, I can say they really are great value. I can actually colour for about 10 minutes at a time without getting much pain which is great, although everyone is different as far as pain is concerned. They're lovely and buttery soft to lay down. Well pigmented. You can use them gently for a more subtle colour or add a little pressure to get a lovely vibrant colour, although sometimes you may need to go back over a little bit to get a good solid colour, depending on how much pressure you use but as they're quite soft but still rigid enough it's not a big deal. I use them with pencil cushions which also helps with the pain and they go in much easier as the shape means they're slimmer than regular pencils, which can be a struggle to get in. I haven’t had any issues sharpening them with a Staedtler Graphite double metal pencil sharpener but do so slowly just in case as they're triangular shaped. I liked these so much I've ordered the pack of 50 for a better range of colours, also an absolute bargain, especially compared to other brand name coloured pencils, at under £20. The pack of 36 is great though, Maybe not artist quality but work well and perfect for general colouring and drawing. I've yet to try them on dark paper so cannot comment on this aspect. However, they've made it fun and possible for me to colour again. I would definitely recommend these for a present or just to treat yourself.

I have some higher quality/cost pencils but needed some additional colours and thought I would try these out as a more cost effective option. They won't rival the more expensive options out there but for those with a bit of technique they punch above their price point and a decent number of colours for the price Very smooth but not as soft as I would like though I have found some of the colours to be very fragile upon sharpening so I have to be a little careful Other than easy to recommend for the cost

I'm an artist and I keep these in my bag. They are cheaper than my expensive sets but the results I get from them are still great. Great for colouring books or a sketchbook. Probably not so good for professional work just because they aren't lightfast. The only negative is they don't really draw well over black paper. But they are good pencils overall.

really pigmented. good quality yet low cost alternative so posca pencils or prismacolour pencils. the colours are very nice too, would recomend for artist on a budget

Fantastic pencils with great colours

I love these pencils - they are vibrant and colourful. Super soft so easy to use. Another review said they had issues with their wrists and found these pencils helped - I found the same. No need to press on hard. Sharpening them isn’t the easiest cos of the shape but I’ve persevered. Highly recommend

I faced significant challenges sharpening these exceptionally hard black-wood pencils with both a standard pencil sharpener and a craft knife, often breaking the lead in the process. Ultimately, I opted to invest in the AFMAT long-point pencil sharpener, and it was a decision that paid off by effectively resolving the issue. While it required additional expenditure, it was necessary. On the plus side, these pencils offer an impressive range of colours and feature soft leads that enhance usability.

Loved the colour range and ease of sharpening. They don't break so easily.

Crayons de bonnes qualités , relativement bien couvrant mais pour obtenir une couleur plus intense il y a lieu d'appuyer dessus ou de passer plusieurs fois au même endroit.

Die Buntstifte zeichnen sich durch ein modernes Design und eine gute Qualität aus. Die Farben sind kräftig, gut deckend und lassen sich weich auftragen. Durch die dreikantige Form liegen die Stifte angenehm in der Hand und eignen sich gut für längeres Malen oder Zeichnen. Die Verarbeitung ist insgesamt solide, die Mine gleitet leicht über das Papier und ist relativ bruchfest. Vereinzelt kann es beim Anspitzen zu kleinen Brüchen kommen.
