Excellent Guide for Homeschool Planning
This book is a fantastic resource for understanding what your child should know at each grade level. The author provides clear expectations across subjects and also recommends supplemental books, which lean more on the secular side, but it’s easy to find alternatives with a biblical worldview if that’s your preference. I purchased this because I’m homeschooling my son, and it has been incredibly helpful in making sure I know exactly what he should be learning academically year by year.

Great book; binding is clumsy
The book itself is fantastic, but the spiral binding was haphazard and some pages were already damaged as a result. For so much extra $, it would be nice to have had better quality control. I like spiral bound for books like this so I can lay it flat while I take notes, but if I were to purchase again, I'd just get regular binding.

Just buy it!
If you’re thinking of home schooling this book should be part of your arsenal. It’s loaded with tons of resources, facts and personal experiences from the author, as she home schooled her now grown kids. I just started reading it but I know it will be one of the most helpful book on my home schooling journey.

Comprehensive, helpful resource
I want to hug this book. I am a certified elementary school teacher just switching to homeschooling my kids (K & 2nd grades). Despite having taught in a project-based, independent-school classroom for 7 years and feeling really comfortable understanding learning standards for the grades I've taught, I still have the worry: how do I do this with my OWN kids? This book lays out the learning expectations by grade in clear, concise sections by grade and subject, but not in a prescribed way. It focuses on learner questions and offers many, many ideas for project-based learning across subjects and grade level, so it's also helpful if you're teaching multiple learners. For example, in the photos above, learning about weight and volume meant, for them, reading a book about how to weigh an elephant, and experimenting with displacement in water. It also offers rich lists of book, project, and online resources for immersion into the different subjects. Many of the books and resources I've used to integrate a global, science-based understanding of the world in my own classroom over the years appear here, so I trust that it has great ideas for the other grade levels, as well! Please note that the elementary years are presented in much more detail than high school.

This book is titled home learning which doesn’t just mean homeschoolers! I love this book it’s like an educational bible. It’s great for homeschoolers and anyone who is interested in where their child should be at... with lots of facts ideas and Rebecca rupps own home school diary eateries included. There’s heaps of book lists and covers preschool right up until leaving school!
