Lovely pictures, nicely written
Bought for a homeschool mini-unit on Africa. They 100% learned the concept behind the title, and enjoyed the short 1-2 page stories about different countries on the continent of Africa. Well chosen emphasis showing the wide variety of people, life styles, cultures and groups. Bought for 6, 8 and 11 year old. It was read aloud to them.

Beautiful Book
I bought this book for my 8yr old son so he could learn a little about the countries that make up Africa. I love the illustrations, and how they included all the countries flags. It was also nice how the author had a small story of the day in the life of the average kid in each country. It really shows how the continent of Africa is very diverse from languages spoken, to food eaten to climate and terrain. Even my 1.5yr old son loves to look at the pictures & flags!

Good information
I had purchased this book to use in a Montessori School in Nigeria. It is full of good information, but was not appropriate for the preschoolers I was working with. I would recommend the book for middle school children.

Love this book for little ones
My daughter (3) loves this book and I love reading it to her. We are both learning something. Lovely, vibrant illustrations keep her interest. Do note this only covers a few countries, and only about 1-2 "snapshot" paragraphs each, so it's more appropriate for little ones, up to maybe up to 6 or 7. There is a very nice guide in the back listing all African countries with a couple of key facts each. I would like it if there were a longer and more in depth version for older children. We can't get enough!

Kenia=lange Strecken laufende Kinder im Hochland=zukรผnftige Marathon-Lรคufer*innen, Ruanda=Vรถlkermord, Sรผdafrika=Soweto, Madagaskar=Lemuren Handlungsorte: Asmara/Eritrea, Palepo/Kamerun, Hochland/Kenia, Laden/Botswana, winterliche Berge/Lesotho, Kairo/รgypten, Schule/Ghana, Harare/Simbabwe, Flรผchtlingslager/Ruanda, Timpuktu/Mali, Fogo/Kap Verde, Cotonou/Benin, Abidijan/Elfenbeinkรผste, Zelt/Mauretanien, Bushaltestelle/Tansania, Strand/Senegal, Addis Abeba/รthiopien, Dorf/Sudan, Wohnzimmer/Demokratische Republik Kongo, Soweto/Sรผdafrika, Algier/Algerien, Tanzunterricht/Nigeria, Dorf/Somalia, Zoo/Madagaskar, abendliches Geschichten erzรคhlen/Togo
