Does each bottle of Terro have an effective shelf life? Haven't had this bottle more than a year or two and yesterday they ignored it like the plague.

Once the clear liquid changes into a light yellow color it becomes less attractive to the ants and if dark brown they avoid it like poison.  I've tried to re-dilute it a little with purified water with some success, but as soon as I switch in a fresh bottle, the same ants that ignored the old stuff start eating the bait like crack.  So yes.. there is an effective shelf-life of 6 months to a year once opened, the better re-sealed it is after each use, the longer the shelf life.

Does Terro Bait work against argetine ants?  Any success story to share?

This product will kill the ants that consume it within 24-48 hours.  Depending on the size of the colony, it may take several weeks to notice a decrease in ant activity.

The active ingredient found in TERRO® liquid ant bait is a Borax. Borax has a low toxicity for people and animals, but ants are another story. When ants consume the Borax bait, it interferes with their digestive system and gradually kills them. This slow kill allows time for the worker ants to consume the bait and head back to the nest to share with the rest of the colony.But, as with any pesticide, it's important to read the included instructions for information on how to best store and apply the product around children and pets.
