Upholstery Plastic Foam Welt Cord Piping

I chose this for my project of recovering the original cushions on my 1940’s-era rattan porch furniture restoration. I needed quite a bit and the price was more than reasonable. One spool was enough for two welts on each of my 10 cushions and I hav some left over. It is made of solid plastic which is what you want to use if your cushions will be subject to outdoors, temperature fluctuations or dampness. Our furniture goes on a covered porch but I wanted to make sure I didn’t have to worry about mold growth so this seemed like the right choice. We haven’t put our furniture out on the porch yet but, so far, the product has performed beautifully. I’m so proud of my work I’ve shared a few pictures. Pic #1: One set of completed cushions, Pic #2: I’m “workin” it...a cover in progress on the sewing machine showing the welting, Pic #3: The couch completed; frame sanded & re-stained, new natural reed wraps on the arms & my fabulous cushions made on a dime! We can hardly wait until it’s warm enough to get it out on the porch and start using it!!! I will state that I sew quite a bit but, other than a throw pillow done for practice using the fabric-type welting, I had never done piping on the edge of cushions before. I had 10 of them to do, altogether; 6 for the sofa & 2 for each of two chairs; a bit of a daunting task, at first but after the first couple, I had my method down pat. This welting is quite stiff & I did sew it into the piping fabric before pinning it & sewing it into the cushion itself. Experts just hold all the layers together at once but I’m a novice on upholstery so I did each step separately. I used re-claimed fabric from a duvet cover (striped fabric) & curtain panels (navy blue solid color fabric) & I used Velcro instead of zippers for the closures because it’s what I had. This welting really helps my cushions retain a nice shape. I couldn’t be more pleased or more proud. I would recommend this product, hands down, if you’re considering making your own lawn furniture cushion covers. AND...last but not least...IT’S MADE IN USA!!! Buy American made goods and help your fellow Americans feed their families AND keep up the proud tradition of manufacturing in America!!

I always order this brand, it’s the best. I use this cord for boat Upholestry. It’s nice and thick but bends easy. Good value for the money.

If you’re scratching your head wondering what to use this for, well, with imagination, this can be used for many things. I make/design purses, and I use this to make corded trim around the bag. Makes the bags look more professional. Also makes it stay shape. The cord itself is firm, as described. If you’re making a corded trim and want something to stay its shape, get this. It’s perfect. I love the quality of this cord, I have no complaints. Will be purchasing this again.

Well, so pleased with this, have used the softer cord for a long time, but this has changed my view for ever! Really easy to work with and result is so good. Maybe not as easy to bend around awkward shapes as the softer cord, but well worth the effort just the same. Don't think I will use anything else again. Very prompt delivery.
