Estes 28199 Aqua Sand, White, 5 lb

It's nice larger grain sand. Its not blindingly white but it isn't yellow. I rinsed it inside of my aquarium since I got both the same day and its 2 and a half-ish gallons. So it wasn't a big deal to sit it in the bath tub for a good rinse. It settled right to the bottom with no issues. It barely even created any clouds before I was done with the first rinse. It looks really great and I would buy it again if I ever got another tank.

I needed more sand for a new aquarium that I'd set up since I have female fancy goldfish who are being 'harassed' by the males. I don't like using gravel and have been using Estes Marine sand for over a decade - and love it. Although this 'sand' needs to be soaked (48 hrs should do) before placing in your aquarium, once it sits, it's beautiful and easy to keep clean. This sand does not hold pockets of noxious gases like playground sand or filter sand can. This is the best substrate for goldfish!

The finer grains of sand kept getting into the water column but once everything settled made its way to the bottom and under the lager grains. Overall very good! Don’t mess with it too much, let the sand settle!

I don't know how much sand weighs so it was hard to tell how much i ordered. The bag was smaller than expected. Looks good in the fish tank and the fish haven't had any problems or complaints.

I won't buy this again. The sand floats and if you only use a inch thickness it will just float away to the top

I really like this sand! Just a quick rinse and it was super clean! No floating debris when putting water in and looks gorgeous :)

I bought this bag of sand for my modelling paste to give it more texture. I love it cause it’s white, clean and refine again great for art.

It’s nice white sand, that’s about it. Pure sand and no debris, shells, etc - I’ve got this as the top layer in my 10 gallon planted tank. My only gripe would be that the sand will float in clumps on top of the water if you need to add more after your initial setup. I imagine this would happen with any sand though.

Good product, but, packaging was open so was leaking everywhere. Will buy again though.👍

I’m very happy with the Estes Aqua Sand. The white color is bright, clean, and looks beautiful in my aquarium. The sand is fine but not too dusty, and after a quick rinse, it settled nicely without clouding the water. My fish seem to love it, and it really makes the tank look fresh and vibrant. A great product and good value for the 5 lb bag. I would definitely buy it again!
